Paulie was right. Canelo backing Angulo up was the key. Angulo can't fight going backwards. It took all his power away. Made the fight easy work until Canelo got tired of pushing forward.

My guess is that Canelo can still make 54 easy. His team just wanted him to fight bigger against Angulo. He lost foot speed but kept his hand speed and most of his head movement. Love to see Canelo v. Lara. I bet you'll see MW Canelo not tonight's LHW Canelo.

I was interested that in the postfight interview, Alvarez didn't mention anyone in particular that he wanted to fight next. I believe he was planning to fight the winner of Molina vs Charlo next, hoping to regain a world title, but Molina's legal problems throw that plan into chaos. My guess is that with Alvarez's political connections, either the WBC will strip Mayweather, or the IBF will strip Molina, and Alvarez will fight someone for a vacant world title this summer.
