    Mares is way too gunshy.

    Virgil should've told him his lowblowing can't be masked by a high workrate fighting like this, and it's much harder to sneak in a shot to the nuts when you throw it from halfway across the ring.

    Oquendo is moving forward, spearing right hand leads over Mares' shoulder in pursuit and missing with the big left hook as Mares ducks. Holding and body punching by Mares, then dancing outside and playing keep-away. Oquendo tries a few whacks downstairs on the way in but can't get a bead on Mares with his constant movement and/or clinch-fighting.

    Mares is going to do this hitting and holding **** for all 10 rds.

    Only chance Oquendo wins is by 1 punch KO.

    Nicolas Wallters, Donaire and Lomochenko would all easily beat Mares at 126lbs.

    This is like the usual Mexico vs. PR dynamic in reverse:

    The smaller one playing cute on the outside with movement is the Mexican, while the bigger slower guy plodding in with steady pressure, body shots, and bombs is the boricua. :think

    ...except when this is fought on the inside, at which point Mares is simply out-landing Oquendo but only half of his stuff demonstrably legal...
