Maidana could be so much more dangerous if he fights this way, not just coming forward swinging crazy wild hooks. Actually picking his punches at times and firing straight punches.

 

I wish Canelo would fight good fighters at 154 instead of fighting euro bums, faded names, and blown up welters and jr welters

Bayless jumped in after Maidana whiffed on his last 3 shots, that's what I'm talking about. Don't get me wrong Karass was done, and it would have been stopped soon, but he should have gave him a few more seconds to try and steady himself.

 

Bayless was on boss mode in that fight. With other referee this stuff could have been way nastier.

Dude had eaten hard right hands and he didn't take them well at all, he head shooting back. Maidana was unloading on the ropes and Soto couldn't do anything and didn't do anything. The way his eyes were swelling up I doubt he was even able to see the punches.

true. the worrying thing is how maidana always seems to gas in the mid rounds and the body attack really seems to take a lot out of maidana... more than it should for a top level fighter. karass may have taken this longer if he avoided getting hurt because maidana does seem to have some sort of stamina issues.

having said that, great improvements where everyone could clearly see maidana a different fighter from before. using jabs and even countering well at times

 

Hope Ponce De Leon doesn't quit.
