You re out of your mind and not worth the response written.... but I'm gonna respond just so that nobody believes the utter nonsense coming from you

 whoa.... you got me there Doc :patsch

Yes.... because i like JR sooo much. Any look on my top 20 fav fighters in the sport and my past posts on him show my extreme fondness for Chavez JR. Funny how i have Saul listed as one of my fav prospects.... and in my top 40 favorite active fighters, but i dont see JR on there. Must be part of some elaborate plan i have

In order to understand why i dont dislike him anymore, you would have to know why i didnt like him in the first place. Which you obviously dont. I didnt like him because he was a silver spooned, coming in over weight, his team tampering with scales, fighting small no hopers and was showing no ability in my eyes. After some humbling interviews, back and forth fights in which anyone who didnt have the heart for boxing would have said forget this im going to go live off my fathers name and become a waste (like camacho jr), instead, he signs with a world class team and doubles down on his work ethic, and then is in an exciting tussle with Duddy in which i see some subtle skills developing, and is now talking about fighting guys like Cotto, Alvarez, ect.

So wrong again... its not just for 'beating Duddy'. Dont comment with such ignorant and foolish authority on what you dont understand.

Thats it.... thats what im doing. You got me there genius :patsch

Yup, i did want him to fight Cotto again, or someone on a similar level. I think it would do well for him to fight a cagey guy like Cotto a couple of times on his way up.... he can learn a lot from guys like that.

Only in your weird mind is this shitting on alvarez

All in all, i really dont think this KO should be looked at for anything more then it is, a young, up and coming stud knocking out a faded veteran whos at the end of his career and has absorbed too much punishment in his career.

Not saying it shouldnt be celebrated, these are the type of fights Canelo should have had at that stage and on top of that, he did exactly what he should have, props to him, no doubt. But i still think it should be kept in perspective.

Nothing but respect to Alvarez though, awesome KO, I hope he continues to improve, and to win. I feel bad for Baldo and hope he gets out before this becomes more of the rule, then the lone exception.
    -------------------------

That is, and always has been my stance on Alvarez beating Baldo. A good win no doubt, and a nice KO, but one that should be put in context and held in perspective. Nothing more, nothing less. Its a sad state of affairs when not praising a fighter nonstop and trying to maintain a level head on their wins is seen as shitting on them.

Again, you're not worth the response given, as you again seem to not be able to grasp that I have never given NO CREDIT to Saul. Keep putting up typical, transparent and shallow strawman arguments though, as its the only thing you seem to be able to do.

I have never changed my mind on Saul, my stance is, and has always been,

Ill say that im not quite sold on him ever being a truly elite fighter, im just not.....

That, however, has no correlation to me liking him as a figter, I like his style, attitude, and just about everything he brings to the table as a young fighter, and IF he can improve fight in and fight out, add in some rare, hidden intangibles that will come to the surface during adversity, then yes im sure he can become an elite fighter.... But hes going to be a fan favorite regardless, and of course there is going to be hype around him, its completely understandable (young, exciting, powerful)

And at the end of the day, as of now, hes got nothing but time to continue and try and improve. I will be rooting for him to continue to shine as he rises through the ranks. But that doesnt mean i think he will be ruling any divisions with an iron fist when he gets older, its simply too early for me to tell and hes still too much a work in progress.
    ----------------------------------

And God forbid i change my my mind on JR when hes showed the guts, heart, and work ethic to actually make it this far :patsch. And after all that 'love' you think i hail onto JR, he STILL doesnt break the top 50 favorite active fighters of mine  How does that work out i wonder. Must be part of some big plan i have.

Its truly rare that ive seen someone be as wrong and off base as anything you've written in that post, dead serious.

Saul Alvarez is a good young talent, and I will be watching with excitement as he continues to rise through the ranks, Im not sold that hes a world class, p4p talent as of yet, or that he will ever be. But he brings everything to the table that i like, and hes got nothing but time to improve. It would be a bit stupid to lay a blanket assumption of how he will be down the road when hes only 20 years old. They are moving him exactly the way they should be, and i would still like to see him in with Cotto again.

JR is a solid young prospect that has shown some promise under his world class team in Roach and Ariza, i dont see much of a future for him given the talent that is arising in the middleweight division but i think he is better then all the 'bum' and 'fraud' jeers being hurled at him, and i am impressed that instead of laxing, he has doubled down on his work ethic and has been in some decent give and take fights so far. Hes not a fav of mine, but is also no longer someone i actively root against.

There, figured id lay it down for you in black and white so theres no confusion or spinning on what i think of either fighter. Maybe you can read it a few times so it can sink in, and think it through a bit more before you again think im some JR nuthugger or Saul hater.

Dude you actually typed all that? To someone not worth the response? hmmmmmm :nut

    :yikes

I was just messing with you.

I know you like Alvarez I saw that in your prior Posts that you posted even in 2009, I just said your were not really giving that much credit to Alvarez for Baldo and that ticked me.

But yeah I see you do give him credit and that's all I wanted to hear :happy
