Kind of a stepdown from Baldomir but i guess its a good stay busy fight.

Its good to see this kid take his time so he can fully develop. He is only 20 after all.

Why doesn't he fight someone who can pose him some problems. A come forward, durable guy .... hmm, sounds exactly like the Baldomir fight. Try a different style saul

Yea the 20 year old is ducking all sorts of challenges.

Eventually he will face slick fighters and i think he will do just fine against them. I mean no one looks good against a slick fighter but Alvarez unlike the typical Mexican fighter is pretty slick himself.
Not to mention he can end the fight with both hands.

Oscar knows this kid needs to take his time so he doesnt get Vargased.

what does his age have to do with it?

he's had 34 fights and already beaten a top journeyman, its time to move on up.

Hmm i dont know maybe he is not as experienced as most fighters he will be facing. He obviously has skill just like alot of up and coming prospects had who went on to get derailed due to lack of experience and never made anything of themselves.
He needs to keep beating top journeyman until he perfects his game. Then thats when he is supposed to step up.

Not everyone can be a Salvador Sanchez who won the title at 19. Alvarez is fighting the competition Berto who is a "world champion" is.

personally i think he should fight k9 bundrage next i think he can beat him and if all the hype he's getting is really deserved then he should be able to beat him. if he did that he'd surpass vargas as the youngest ever jmw champ

Your ******ness is beginning to show very clearly. Wasn't both Tyson and Mayweather went to the amatuers before turning pros? Alvarez has no amatuer expereince in which he went straight to the pros. I think Alvarez will face a slick fighter soon. He needs time to develop.

    Saul 'Winchester' Alvarez

Will fight you-- only if you're shot.

This makes the Chavez Jr vs Gomez fight look good in hindsight.
