I want him to fight Marquez just to end the rivalry. Don't care if he doesn't get any credit.

You should, because you would then be reading pish on here about him fighting an ageing Marquez, which he is by the way.

Marquez tired in those last 3 rounds against Diaz, and I think some have under estimated Katsidis as well.

Katsidis surprised me in the Mitchell fight, he was more patient than normal, picked his moments to attack, where if you watched the Escobedo fight he was just relentless. Marquez can't keep up the pace I think any more, if Katsidis remains calm and fights in flurries who knows?

As for Pacquiao, well if the one sided beating he took from Mayweather didn't take as much out of as some expected, then Pacquiao will send him into retirement and then we will have "beating a shot Marquez means nothing/cherry picker etc".

Well obviously he is too green now but in 2 years i would imagine Pac will be on the slide enough that he would get beat. Not to mention Saul is a big guy with decent skills.

I think Pac will end up making a come back due to him being too nice and giving people money and not to mention i hear he has gambling habits.

Who the hell wanted to see him fight Clottey and Margarito?? It still happened and a good amount of people still watched those fights. At this rate ANY Pacquiao fight is a big event. He wants to continue fighting and if he can't get a fight with Mayweather the logical thing to do is to give promising prospects like Bradley a chance. At least it would put to rest all the trash talk about Pac not fighting slick African boxers.

I did cover that in my post.

Like I said it, its all about Pacquiao staying busy now and giving value for money for whatever fight is made until Mayweather comes off "vacation"

Saul Alvarez almost got knocked out by Cotto's lightweight brother 2 fights ago. Pac would annihilate this hype job. Let him prove himself against other top contenders first, then he can talk about Pac

Would go down like Pac-Cotto. Canelo has high ring IQ, excellent timing and accuracy & a very powerful body, but lacks elite speed, movement and athleticism. Pac's style is all wrong for him, too mobile, too fast, hard to predict, would pick Canelo apart after competitive early rounds. Nice girl on the avi.

Pacquiao is unproven vs. orange-haired fighters.

maybe 2012, a ginger kid taking a beating, we all witnessed it when we were young, and it felt justified.

  10. i'd like to see that fight in a year or two. they should work on that boy's speed and footwork. when pacquiao slows down a bit, it could be competitive. even if he's not really ready it could be a classic as saul is a pretty big puncher imo.

    GB is saving "Canelo"
They have big dreams for the kid, Why would they blow their WAD on Manny spoiling their golden goose?

Never happen. (Not anytime soon anyway...)
Maybe when Manny is ready to pass the torch ala as De La Hoya did for Pacquaio.

More to the point, Pacquiao will have declined by then, if anything. The current version of Pacquiao ices any version of Alvarez, future or present, I'd say.

As far as, "Saul said he thinks Pac is not invincible and the beating Pac gave to Margarito was impressive although Margarito doesn't have any defense" goes, would it be possible to state the obvious to a greater extent?

Canelo's a good prospect, but he's not ready for Pacman. First beat the likes of Cotto, Berto, Clottey, etc and then we can talk.

I think that one thing people fail to notice is that Roach said he wanted to train Alvarez... literally begging Oscar to give him a crack at it. I don't think Saul has the experience he needs to even justify calling for the fight; though, Jose Suleiman called for it last year.
