Definitely not HBO main event worthy. Then again, HBO seems to put on many HBO unworthy main events.

Oh my god. You have clearly just done a box rec search and come to conclusion that he is a bum. He is far from a bum and although I don't think he will win, he will come to win and make saul look bad at times.

You need to do more research on rhodes before starting these threads.

IMO he's a great fighter for saul as its more learning against an awkward fighter. I can't see how this is not a smart fight that will teach saul more

He's a decent fighter. Hard to look great against. How can you say he is not a good fighter without watching him?:patsch

He is better than Matthew Hatton, by far. Again, how can you compare the two if you have never seen him fight?:patsch

Rhodes would destroy hatton jr and will be a decent test for Saul.

Yeah, I've seen a bit of Rhodes, he is a tough, awkward fighter. I actually want him to win. I am not yet won over by Alvarez. I don't even know why Matthew Hatton was picked to fight him, and I don't know why Hatton even took the fight, at least he showed heart but still, that was a fight that never needed to happen.

This will be a challenging fight for Alvarez. It is a test. Rhodes is awkward, and fairly decent. I don't think he will win, but is a live opponent for a 20 year old up and coming fighter. If Saul passes this test with flying colours it will tell us a lot about his prospects.

The current p4p #1 fighter in the world and ATG lost to an inferior fighter to Lockett. They only thing to discuss, is actually how mentally deficient you actually are. I'd say, very!

This "fight" is a disgrace and if Canelo struggles with him he should not fight on HBO again.

Agreed. This is by far Canelo's toughest test and he's found himself in a couple of brawls early on in his career.

That said, I'm expecting a 116-112 UD type of win for SA.

Rhodes is probably a couple of levels up from Matt Hatton. Rhodes has trained like a beast for this fight, Alvarez will have to really work for the victory!!!
