I watched some "highlights" of his fights and his fight with lockett and he is a talented competitor, if he were in a toughman competition and not a boxing match. The man has almost no discernible talent, if half the posters on here werent' british it would be a concensus that he IS a can.

I don't know much about RR but I like those odds considering Canelo's age and what not. £5 on each round at 66/1 might be worth a shot.

So you've never watched a Ryan Rhodes fight. Says it all. Your opinion is worthless.

didnt people said alvarez shouldnt fight for a title vs hatton because that fight should have been rhodes vs angulo, now that he is taking on rhodes why are people complaining, this is a excellent step up compared to what most people thought would be the route.

I love that about this website, it ****ing pisses me off so much. As soon as somebody has a certain opinion, its because they are American, its because they are a fan boy, its because they are British.

The simple fact is, the only reason British people would know about him is because he is British and unlikely to have been shown on any TV networks, so when you say only British people say he isn't a can, you basically mean, the only people to have watched him in a full fight are British so they should know better than somebody who has only watched ****ing highlights.

It the reason I prefer Showtime. Showtime tries to make the best fights possible while HBO prefers trying to build stars through showcase fights

Rhodes does have an awkward style and is fit I say on his best night he gets a draw with Canelo. Canelo has 147 power, but he does fight like a much older seasoned fighter. Rhodes looks stronger than anyone Canelos faced, but Canelo should be getting faster and stronger he isnt prime yet. Good matchup. I still think Canelo shouldnt of have fought fir a belt in 3-4 yrs. Hes very good, but they rushing him and hes not ready yet.

Canelo should call out SOG and eat his way to 68 just to prove his invincibility

Ryan Rhodes is an awkward switch hitter with a very good punch on him.

To say he is 'worse' then Mathew Hatton is pure horse ****. Rhodes has been on a very good run for a while now and the only thing keeping him from a world title fight is politics.

Watch him fight instead of obsessing over boxrec you berk. How many of his fights have you seen?

The thing is Rhodes worked himself into a #1 contender position by knocking out Jamie Moore. Then suddenly Matthew Hatton comes from nowhere after doing next to nothing at a lower weight class and gets a shot! Canelo couldn't even put him on the floor. Rhodes comes to fight, he is quicker, bigger, hits harder than Hatton and from a variety of angles. I like Alvarez but at 20 he has a lot to learn. It will be interesting. :rasta

Not the best defence despite his style, but this is worth a watch
