How good do you guys think this kid can be? He is only 19 and is undefeated with over a 70% KO ratio. I think he turned pro at like 15 and was knocking out grown men. But ive only ever seen him on the Mosley/Mayweather card. I thought he looked pretty good.

Can he be the next big thing?

I think he can be the next big thing...wonderful combination's, great uppercuts, relatively fast hands, and he's shown he can take a shot and prevail...and all at the age of 19.

I was at his last fight and thought he was the business. He's never going to be the most ellusive fighter out there but he's mature for his age, game as f*ck, with a great offensive arsenal. He'll definately win a world title but I'm unsure about him becoming a dominant force. Depends on what kind of division/ divisions he's up against!

I agree with these points, although i am basing this on only 1 fight. He seems like he loves a good scrap, and his image will get him far (surely has to be the only ginger Mexican ever!!) I also think he wins a world title, but i cant say with any great conviction that he will completely dominate a division. But he definitely has time on his side

He doesn't have a terrible defense either, I think he worked well off the ropes...better than most seasoned veterans. Avoiding most of Cotto's work, and coming back with stinging uppercuts and hooks. We have to realize that what we're currently seeing is not the finished article. Marco Antonio Barrera wasn't the most elusive of targets when he was starting out and he turned professional at age 15 and had 30 fights by the time he was 20, also.

I've only seen him once and that was his last fight and being billed as the next big thing.

Got rocked early on but came back into it.

Still need a bit of rounding off imo, need to see more of him before forging an opinion.

he is agood prospect reminds me of hw the older generation of mexicans did it by turning pro at an early age. we will probly see him fight the likes of eriik morales and mab now that they r fighting in the welterweight division

i hope not, it would be cruel to throw MAB or morales in there with him... im not sure if im wrong here, but isnt he a massive welterweight ? he looked very thick set to me... i just cant see either of them 2 causing him to many problems at that weight, and with his power i see him finishing them early

his combinations, body shots etc, for a 19 year old showed great potential for the future

im marking him down as a future p4p... this, of course is only based on one fight, but at 19, showing maturity to take that beating cotto gave him (riding the tide and keeping his hands up) come back from it, hold his own then end up being the first person to stop cotto showed a lot of class to me

    WAR ALVEREZ!:bbb

Morales and Barrera will go nowhere near Alvarez. Especially Marco who isn't fighting at Welterweight...he's way to small.

    We ****in better not!

Morales better get his lazy ass down to 140 max and Barrera has said he's aiming for a lightweight world title.

I've stood next to Alvarez and Morales a day apart and the size difference is immense!!!!!!!

No way either fight should happen!

I wasn't impressed at all. He got hurt numerous times by a lightweight & won the fight because he was the bigger man. He has a suspect chin & as soon as he steps it up, he will get hurt.

i dont agree to be honest... he got his with a beauty powerful shot off cotoo & survived an on slaught... just because it hurt him doesnt mean he has a susspect chin imo... its a boxni fight, if your a little green & a little eager, youre going to get hurt

he does have a few faults that need brushing up on, but dont forget, hes 19... even though hes had a large volume of fights, hes still not going to have the ring savvy of a seasoned 26-27 yr old of the same fight record imo
