Where does Saul Alverez rank amoung the youngest fighters to win a professional World Boxing Title? I know 1. Wilfred Benetiz won one at 17. 2-3-4 May be Tyson, Van Horn or him all won at 20. Are there any other fighters that are younger who won world title fights? Who was younger out of Tyson, Van Horn or him?
Marvin Sonsona - 19 years old Manny Pacquiao - 19 years old Ben Villaflor - 19 years old Wilfredo Benitez - 17 years old Fighting Harada - 19 years old Jorge Arce - 19 years old Lionel Rose - 19 years old Pipino Cuevas - 18 years old
good list boom boom, i have no time to research so that was nice. I am not in the alvarez wagon yet...not by a long shot....yet.
Alvarez didnt beat a champion to win his belt so i dont give him credit.. he's a champion but lets not make a big deal about it. :hat
Saul once again failed to do what every claimed he would do. He was underwhelming against former LIGHT WELTERWIEGHT Lovemore N'Dou. He was underwhelming against former Welterweight champ Carlos Baldomir (that last round was the only quality round in the fight). And he was underwhelming against career welterweight Matthew Hatton. Heck, I would stand to guess that fight actually made Hatton look better than everyone thought he was.
I like Alvarez. Will be interesting to see where his career goes from here. Now that he has a belt he's going to have to start facing stiffer competition. A match with him and Mayorga would bring fireworks.
