Cotto gets all the love because he proved his self, stepped up already and showed the fans what he has to offer. We can easily define Cotto at this moment because he fought the fights that would define him and his fighting ability. Alvarez is yet to prove anything compared to Cotto in terms of fame and general recognition/support.

Alvarez is a very good fighter in my opinion, still unproven but has excitement written all over him. Sadly, some his newly adopted fans seem to be too dumb.

 

well, first off everyone that is knowledeable about boxing knows that the real belts are the WBC and IBF, not the WBO. trust me in that if canelo was holding the WBO strap no one would be giving him so much hate.

-after he became a 154 titleist, who were his first, 2nd, and 3rd title defenses against? and what were their last four fights combined records?
-when he fought Hatton, what were their weights on fight night?

now, are we going to get into the records of manny pacquiao, bernard hopkins and roy jones jr. after they became world champions and compare them to canelos?
