Cotto gets all the love because he proved his self, stepped up already and showed the fans what he has to offer. We can easily define Cotto at this moment because he fought the fights that would define him and his fighting ability. Alvarez is yet to prove anything compared to Cotto in terms of fame and general recognition/support. Alvarez is a very good fighter in my opinion, still unproven but has excitement written all over him. Sadly, some his newly adopted fans seem to be too dumb.
well, first off everyone that is knowledeable about boxing knows that the real belts are the WBC and IBF, not the WBO. trust me in that if canelo was holding the WBO strap no one would be giving him so much hate. but...thats another story. -who did canelo beat to become the 154 WBC Champ? -after he became a 154 titleist, who were his first, 2nd, and 3rd title defenses against? and what were their last four fights combined records? -when he fought Hatton, what were their weights on fight night? now, are we going to get into the records of manny pacquiao, bernard hopkins and roy jones jr. after they became world champions and compare them to canelos? because i can sit here all day and tear you a new one. end it now, IsaL. youre making yourself look real stupid comparing the records of the aforementioned fighters with that of canelos. is canelo going to fight lara or molina next? who do you recommend he fight?
Hahahaha.... The WBC was the best belt PRE 2000's AND the IBF was the WEAKEST of the THREE (WBC, WBA, IBF). Then in the 90's the WBO started becoming relevant when fighters such as De La Hoya, Corrales, Margarito etc... started treating it like the 3 other. Today the WBC is a joke. But like you said that's another story. I'm comparing mostly Cotto, but we can talk about Pac if you'd like, or even Hopkins and RJJ who fought weak opposition for a very long time. Look you ****ing moron, I'm not comparing Hopkins' or Cotto's legacy to Canelo's career SO FAR. atsch :-( I'm comparing what they did immediately after becoming champions like Canelo did. :deal Try and tear me a new one, I assure you your ******* will be 3 inches in diamater. Now again, tell me... Who did Cotto fight after winning the VACANT starp against Kelso Pinto?
Can - YELLOW. Is a pare champion with a padded r rod ! Has not even doughty a legitimate top top ten junioridfleweight ! Let alone a mumber one contender ! A hyped up joke ! Why people buy into the bull**** and ignore the facts is beyond me ! The spoiled kid is quickly earning the name of ******* outside of the ring as well ! I am surprised he does'nt have Archie Solis on his record ! Can - YELLOW IS an Overprotected joke ! As soon ad he fights a guy in the legitimate top ten he will be badly and sadly exposed !
How can you put Cotto and Canelo in the same sentence? that is disrespectful. That kid hasn't done **** yet.
were not talking about the 90's were talking about now. the wbc and ibf belts are recognized as the belt. "****ing moron" you are resorting to more name-calling? good examples you are setting forth here as an ADMIN on the esb forums. ill tell you thats not very impressive to educated people, IsaL. b-hop defeated segundo mercado, a legitimate 160 unlike hatton who was a 147 to secure the IBF belt. then beat undefeated lipsey(25-0;20kos), john david jackson, glenn johnson, brown and echols. pacquiao defeated ledwaba for the ibf belt and the defended against sanchez, julio, lucero and barrera. so you have gomez(career ww coming off impressive wins over 135-pound jlc and green), kermit cintron(last seen jumping out of a ring against PW and getting schooled by molina), mosely(coming off two ww losses and a jmw draw; the pacquiao loss where he was credited with an erroneous knockdown and immediately apologized to manny while trying to plead his case that it wasnt a knockdown) and now josesito...a guy that was in a life and death fight just three months earlier at his first showing at 147 who was fighting 140 pound eight-rounders just a year and a half ago and still was only able to accumulate a 50 percent ko rate...at 140. you better come up with something quick here IsaL because the little smiley-faces emoticons arent going to help you as you continue to be made a fool. now excatly who is canelo going to fight next? the winner of vanes/lara? what if he fights maidaina? what excuses will you have for us then? why didnt he fight trout? 39-year-old bundrage? vanes? lara? molina? why josesito? please tell us, IsaL. this is a broken record and it is getting more and more difficult for canelo backers to continue to spin.
well, IsaL is also putting canelos name in the same sentence as jones jr., bernard hopkins and pacquiao as well. just the thought of it makes you laugh. what has become of the ESB forums? where ADMINS have become fools? let it go, IsaL.
Man Alvarez was ****ing outboxed By Alfonzo Gomez, You see what Cotto did to a way younger and more prime Gomez? A ****ing sparring session. Not to mention that Alvarez faces 140 pounders when he is at 154
Once again. Comparing Canelos early run as champ to Cotto's perfectly fine. Canelo at 22 has accomplished more than most fighters mentioned at 22. His resume is similar to many young fighters who win a title that is vacant, ala Cotto and Hopkins. If you think I'm comparing Canelo's career thus far to Cotto's legacy you need to learn to read english before posting on ESB.
And still.........Light Middle Weight Champion of the World....Saaaaaulllllll "The 140lbs Killer" Alvarrrrreeeezzz!
I agree he's done remarkably well for a 22 year old. There are no other people that age currently who have achieved as much
more name-calling? are you going to rebuttal the gomez, cintron, mosely and josesitio record of canelos? or are you just going to sit around and call people more names while you attempt to take your foot out of your mouth? and dont try to get PR BOXING to help you out. just you and me and me throwing down a can of whoop-ass on you. Let it go, IsaL.
