Impressed me in some areas and disappointed me in others. But, I have to commend him for finally stepping up and fighting a legit challenger. Let's hope he carries this forward against other top 154 pounders.

for finally fighting another 154lb'er yes
Canelo's good his ceiling is just below Cotto's, but I don't believe he'll ever be elite
gotta work on that stamina hardcore though.......dude fights 1:30 at most each round

His defense really impresed me considering he was in there with a guy with fast hands and with reach advantage. He had very good head and upperbody head movement. Very impressed.

I was disaapointed in his stamina even though I've always know that is one of his weaknesses, I was hoping they can work on that.

I agree but he is still very relatively green at the top level, I think he can progress to close any gaps, and improve.

I would like to see him in there with Cotto

I agree although I think stamina can be worked out via conditioning, maybe a coach? Don't know who he has working in his team.

I was truly impressed with his head movement. I did remember his trainer doing something with a towel a while back

Stamina problems in well conditioned fighters are caused by trying to be faster than you naturally are. Cotto often faded from the 7th round on because he tried to be quick and he is not naturally quick. Alvarez is a better fighter than Cotto ever was. If you can get a fighter to work at a natural speed and relax a little more, his stamina will greatly improve.

I never was a hater, but I did understand why everyone thought he was a hyped fighter. The guy didn't really have a test until Trout. After his win, I'm fully supporting Canelo. The guy is the truth.

Not much has really changed for me. I thought the fight was 50/50 and it basically was. I thought both Canelo and Trout were great fighters but not at the higher level that fighters like Martinez, Mayweather, Marquez are at.

If Canelo had dominated Trout more easily and hadn't got tired at the end then my view of him would be much higher.

The only thing that I underestimated was his head movement, but Trout was not going on the inside at all and was staying on the outside but I still give him some credit for that.

Yes he impressed me. He more or less controlled, and at times outclassed a very difficult opponent / bigger opponent. He wasn't as active as I would have liked to see, but he showed a lot of versatility . I think hes without a doubt one of the top fighters in the sport

although i picked canelo to beat up trout, he didnt do it like i thought he would. when he pressed the action he looked, and did as well, as i expected him to. i did not expect the great defence and i did not expect him to step back and admire his work so much. if he could return fire while he bobbed and weaved, like chavez used to do, he would be untouchable at 154. i think he could benefit from training under robert garcia.

Only beef I have w/Canelo regarding his clear victory over Trout is that he gasses. He doesn't throw a million punches a round yet he gasses. Kids 22. He shouldn't gas throwin' 50-60 punches a round. I don't know if it's that he puts KO on everything he throws and needs to learn to vary his intensity or if he just doesn't train right or hard enough or what. If he's the goods, at 22 he oughta' be able to go 12 hard rounds.

YES, he earn it. He's a proven fighter but he has to improve his stamina condition and his footwork. :yep

p.s I have a feeling that Lara has the wrong style for him, not saying that he would beat Canelo but he would give bad nightmares.
