Saul ''canelo'' Alvarez, the next superstar of boxing ...

    Or not.

Can't even make weight for his fights at 154. And yes he did fight at 147, contrary to what MANY people on here write, I've noticed a huge tendency from people on here to tell things that aren't true, or from false sources.

Falsification and propagation of false information is never a good thing ...

He defended many welterweight ( 147 ) international and regional titles such as the winning the NABF and WBO latino welterweight belts with a TKO win against Antonio Fitch, or when winning the WBC youth welterweight belt with a KO win over Marat Khuzeev. He defended his welterweights titles a couple of time as well, against Euri Gonzales, José Cotto ... just to name a few.

He has a draw against Jorge Juarez, a guy 8-12-3 and got KOed a couple times, Alvarez couldn't even KO him ... And this wasn't Alvarez first fight, he even said he fought before what is listed on his professional record ...

    This guy is a clown.

You're really reaching here. He's how old again? You really think he's going to stay at the same weight while he's still growing? He's not the best out there but he comes to fight and usually puts on a good show I don't understand how someone can dislike him.

He's 23 years old and can't make 154 ? Male stop growing between 16 and 21, his last fight at 147 was in 2010, so he was 19. He should still be able to make 154, since he made it against trout in 2013.

He's only 5 feet 9 ( 175 cm ), not tall at all. Some boxer make 137 at 5feet9, such as Amir Khan just to name a well known one.

He had rigged judges in the Mayweather, Trout and Lara fight, judges who has ridiculous scores in his favor in close ( or not close at all ) bouts.

He's like a spoiled kid. Just look at his interview before/after the Lara fight, he sound like a child who didn't get what he wanted.

How can this guy be likable, I wonder ?

I don't understand your beef with him what does it matter if he can't make 54 anymore? He's moving up, I don't see what the problem is. If anything he's on a collision course with the most dangerous guy in ggg. Hes not ducking anyone. He's already lost to mayweather, there's no bigger fight than the ones he can make with cotto, ggg. And we actually don't stop growing at 21, a males body will continue to get denser the older he gets.

    You don't get taller.

At 5 feet 9, not being able to make 154 isn't normal.

My beef with him is that he's a terrible fighter overall. He's like the thousand of other hispanic figters with no footwork, no defense, stamina, head movement or boxing ability, he just got more exposure than the others.

If he can,t even KO a guy who's 8-13 who lost by way of knockout on his second fight, that mean he doesn't even have power.

    a) you do not get taller, but you do mature and your bones get heavier as they solidify. Plus you get more and more muscle, all the way until 35 ish, so its perfectly normal that he can't make 154 anymore. What isn't normal is that he keeps fighting people at catchweight instead of moving up to 160, where he belongs.

    b) He is a very good fighter. His only flaws are stamina and legwork, but everything else is on par with the best out there. Unfortunately, footwork is the foundation of boxing and as such he really looks lackluster next to boxers with better movement, ie Lara.

I won't argue that his power is overrated, and his skills might not be world class(Alfonso Gomez out boxed him) but he's certainly not garbage. He comes to fight and fights the best, can't dislike that.

Get your facts straight. Caneloe is 5 foot 7, not 5 foot 9.

And he fought last year trout and weighted 153

So he can't even make 154 while 5 feet 9 Amir Khan fought at light welterweight ?

I think he can still make 154 but it's starting to take a toll on him. He rehydrates a lot, but so did Trout and Angulo and a bunch of other jr middles.
