I don't think Canelo looked good at all. Especially when he would stand in front of his opponent in range for 20 seconds at a time throwing no punches. From what I saw any good ranged fighter will beat him. He has no jab or range while at the same time no quick explosive ability to get inside like Tyson would.
He is explosive and he would stand in front... ready to go for an explosive counter and to exploit any wrong move... Watch it again.
Strongly disagree:-( Canelo is a fantastic combination puncher who will only get better with more fights. I wil say that he doesnt throw a very convincing jab though. He has the potential to be a superstar in boxing, who would beat Chavez Jrs ass:dead

I watched the fight on a 60 inch HD TV, and despite the fact the your only response to my claim that Canelo has no jab was "you didn't watch the fight' that doesn't change the fact Canelo has no jab or range. I'm glad you like his close range hook combos but the fact remains, that a biased fanboi like you will ignore is that Canelo showed no range and was lucky his opponent stood in front of him and did nothing. it's kind of creepy that you are so obsessed with a fighter that you would lie and claim he had a good jab. eerie, really eerie.
actually it's not surprising a claim like that it would come from a fan who supports a loser team like aston villa who will never win the premier league. It's the only defense mechanism one can have when you are a fan of some team that has no hope of ever winning the championship, but you support them because you live near them. Canelo has a jab, and aston villa is a good team and has a chance of winning !

why are you comparing him to tyson? there was only one iron mike tyson. its a great win for him. he finally beat a true 154lber. what else can you ask? the reason why rhodes couldn't do anything against him is that he couldn't. he came to fight. canelo just wouldn't let him. kudos to gbp for great matchmaking. canelo throws great combos with a respectable overhand right, left hook and solid uppercut. he just doesn't have one punch power. his chin looked fine tonight. the only knock on him was when he complained to his corner that rhodes was "very strong" in between the sixth and seventh round. he looked as good as one could've hoped for tonight against a legitimate 154lber.
