*****s: Is Canelo on record saying he wants to fight champions at their best weight and wants his opponents to be comfortable? Hint: The answer is "No".

As a floyd fan I dont understand how *****s are quick to defend that mayweather did not favor the catchweight. Catchweight was on his contract & he did sign it. Also there alot of stipulations where Canelo's camp & oscar have to be quiet. Seems like everytime they ask oscar or canelo about details of weight they say they can't discuss.

Oscar was just asked about penalty per pound " cant discuss that "

Also Canelo had said & its on video youtube, where he was asked about weight, he answerd very carefully & said. "all I can say is that it was not our idea why would we offer a catchweight" & said he could not talk further details.

I think its kind of lame how they put a gag on details of contract. Either way i rather the fight happen with catchweight then not at all & if canelo accepted the catchweight then there is no excuse if he does come in effected by catch weight. Its just crazy how *****s are making up excuses for floyd accpeting or acting as if he did not perfer the catchweight. Floyd knows canelo is a 154lb fighter its not like he bearly heard of him.

I feel you, Floyd tried to make out like he was some saint that would never accept terms that put his opponent at a disadvantage, then does this. He is a business man at the end of the day. No news there. At the same time Canelo offered the fight at a catch weight, and shouldn't complain that it was accepted.

There is no need to defend the catchweight, he obviously did it because it gives him an advantage, and Canelo offered it to get the fight. Sounds fair to me!

canelo offered the catchweight that placed him at disadvantage, is he only after the big payday? canelo is already a big underdog and he's making it worst by draining himself

Who cares? This isn't the first time Floyd completely contradictsed himself, nor will it be the last if what "they" say is true.....that history repeats itself.

Bottom line is "yes".....Floyd came out blasting Pac, numerous times about catch weight fights......only to choose to fight Canelo at a catch weight for a title.

Catch weights only got a bad name after Floyd started blowin' that whistle in hopes to discredit Mannys accomplishments. .....but catch weights are a part of the history of the sport and will remain.

We've gotten to see some great match ups because of them. And it makes sense when two fighers from 2 different weight classes are looking to square off on "neutral" ground.

Accept Floyd for what he is....a bullshitter. He says whatever he wants to further his situation and won't blink at contradicting himself if it means he will somehow benefit from it.

  13. Canelo should come in at 154.

Say Viva JMM and then flip off Floyd.

I agree....what's your take on the fight between Pac and Cotto at 145 a few years back? A lot of floyd fans crucified Manny based on Floyds "moral" stance that catch weights were a way to put opponents at a disadvantage. ......it's interesting to see how some have found a way to give Floyd a pass on this one.
