I don't know where Frank thinks Eddie could of moved the show to. All the U.S states commissions would of ruled the same.
If the situation was reversed and a Matchroom fighter had a licensing issue on a Warren card including other fights I'm sure Frank would be the first to offer to send it across the Atlantic. Wouldn't hesitate to do that. Not that fella. Noooooo way.... The irony is that Warren was overly pleased with himself a few months ago for the size of the purse that he squeezed out of DAZN funded Eddie for this fight. He was smirking in interviews. Of course that it also meant BJS defending overseas or signing up to VADA was irrelevant. Doh!
I think the major problem here is the discrepancies between the individual drug testing agencies, as much as everyone is saying he’s failed a VADA test everyone could shout the opposite and say he’s passed UKAD and WADA rules so who’s right and who is wrong? It’s just a joke there should be one agency with one set of rules so everyone knows where they stand. Similar to Canelo BJS will get a backdated 6 month ban to time of offence which was late August which means late Feb he could challenge for title again. I don’t agree or disagree with the ruling to be fair, just think it’s a bit of a joke and sets up as Hearn has stated the Andrade v Saunders fight is bigger now. That fight happens next year
Be interesting to see what role the WBO play in encouraging that fight to take place. Will they be mandating it? Will Andrade and Hearn be more interested in a Golovkin fight or winner of Jacobs Der unification? That belt could get GGG on to DAZN which would be a big win? Assuming Andrade takes the title then faces BJS I wonder what split BJS would get? He won't be on 2.3m as a challenger.
Frank is a bitter old man. Saunders signed up to VADA, he was on a banned substance, he isn't allowed to fight. Totally right. If they dont rate VADA tbey shoul6dn't have agreed to VADA testing, not rocket science. As a boxing fan I also respect VADA more than UKAD, who now let it be known a boxer can juice up in camp and get all the benefits and its in their rules. They are a farce. Shame were all missing out on a great fight but we need to look at the big picture for boxing the sport we love, its the right thing not to let Saunders fight.
Saunders is wrong simply because he signed up for Vada testing. With that comes Vada rules and he should of known that.
So this mess played out pretty much exactly how I thought it would do. I have zero sympathy for Saunders and there is no case for the Boston commission to answer and it simply wont reach a legal stage. Frank is being an idiot trying to pass some of the blame onto Matchroom - I guess he knows this, but he’s also now In a difficult spot too.
Oh I think there's very possibly a case for MSAC to answer. They look to have ignored their own written procedures when making that decision. Could be very costly indeed.
