He will need to fight at least 4 times to earn that much and will likely lose while doing that.

He needs to go to England for that fight. BJS is the money, not GGG

    I don't think that's necessarily true.

I'm guessing you're not British? BJS is fairly well unknown outside the boxing hardcore and the traveller community over here. Hell, the Manchester arena was less than half full for his title win over Lee and even that was only because Liam Smith and Jimmy Kelly sold a load of tickets for the chief support.

Both, but I was really thinking of the paycheck aspect.

If the offer was $3.2 million, and he can defend his title twice this year, then the GGG offer may resurface next year, and it could conceivably be more lucrative. Also, there still could be a chance that BJS can land a Canelo bout, which would almost certainly pay more than what GGG is offering I'd imagine.

Obviously, if BJS loses his next fight, then he will have blown it.

But declining the career high payday now could conceivably work out for him, money wise, in the longer short term.

It's a gamble, but not one that necessarily spells doom. It could still work out resulting in higher earnings for him 3 or 4 fights down the road.

There's a reason why GGG is offering that money, it probably is more what he's making. Ffs, he made 2 million fighting Lemieux.

BJS is the draw, not him. And that's a fact. He did 97k ffs.

So the ducker is getting ducked (as people are claiming), and you wonder why there's no empathy for GGG. Welcome to the boxing game.

Seems like an optimistic and risky approach when you can earn the money now.

Yes it is, son, yes it is.
