Saunders Is The Luckiest Title Holder In Boxing

He has the jackpot in hands with that WBO belt, and yet he claims that belts don't pay the bills... I tend to disagree in this case.

 

it does create an interesting situation in the mw division. I expect a bit of a bidding war between canelo and ggg for this fight.
i would expect a pay day of somewhere between 3 and 5 million for him. canelo cant really offer anything more after all the reasons he has been busy giving for offering ggg what he says he offered, because saunders is a much smaller name with fewer accomplishments than ggg.
if its all about the seats an opponent can fill, like oscar and canelo keep telling everyone so they dont look like theyre ducking ggg, then i dont see how saunders would deserve more than 3 million offer from the cash cow.

I understand why both want that belt but let's make one thing clear Saunders can really box and could certainly give Canelo a run for his money,ok he won't have the power to trouble Canelo but he could out box him.

 

I think he'd outbox Canelo handily but there's no way he'd get the decision though.

Nope. Kovalev name and Stevenson's name are not on the radar of the casual boxing fan. HBO marketed GGG well and GBP has brought Canelo along to the level he is at now. The LHW division has none of that right now.

 

I'm not disputing that but I'd be surprised if anyone with no interest in boxing knows who Canelo and GGG is?

 

Not if we're measuring luck by dollar signs lol. BJS is in an enviable spot of having bigger money fighters targeting him for the last piece to make one of (if not the) biggest fights in boxing worth all the marbles.

If he doesn't cash it in vs Canelo or GGG, he's wasted the biggest lottery ticket in years.

 

They don't. I've tried floating their names to people lately. Nada. The only recent names people recognize are Mayweather and Pacquiao. They know a few UFC names though.

 

Yeah me too I've asked friends who don't follow boxing and they've no idea who I'm talking about,now going back guys like Tyson,Lennox Lewis,Eubank And Naseem Hamed were names everyone knew,I'm not sure we will ever see huge pay per view numbers again anyway as so many just stream it nowadays.

Canelo is the lineal champion. If GG beats Canelo then he will be the MW lineal champion. Simple. It gives GG a chance not Canelo.

 

Don't forget that gash has been allowed to avoid fighting his mandatory Khurtsidze who would stand a very good chance of leaving him unconscious. He's has his belt for 10 months and nothing about it.
