Like I said Frank is going into the 02 / he needs solid known names, not unknown guys to the general public

 

Let’s be clear, Murray has had some very close decisions go against him, however, he was robbed against Martinez. Let’s not rewrite history for the sake of rubbishing him for this fight. He put Martinez down. Should have been twice but that was just one of a number of things that seemed to go against him in that fight. Even if he knocked him out he’d have got a draw.

For the first time in his career, Murray has got something he didn’t deserve. It’s a shame it’s come at a point when he’s a few years past his best. He will retire after this fight so i’m happy for him that he’s got this one last shot.

As for the fight itself, it’s going to be one for the purists. You have a counter puncher against a fighter who is very cagey and conservative with his punch output. BJS isn’t going to look good in this one, but he should win comfortably. Murray will be looking for that big body shot, Ward style but he won’t get near him.

Hopefully Murray can retire with his head held high to sign off a pretty decent, respectable career, and BJS can go for GGG.

 

Don't see all hate clearly they want winner canelo ggg so why take a risky fight ,in all honesty great matchmaking home fight against someone a lot boxing fans know a fight he should win handily keeps him active busy and ready for bigger fights to follow. No doubt yarde or Dubois on undercard along hooker vs Flanagan don't think it's bad at all seen far worse cards if don't like don't watch it

I agree martin is a really great guy 20. Great guy. But he has been wrongly portrayed as being robbed repeatedly. Particularly against Sturm. You say lets be clear - so ok Ill be clear. Sturm beat Murray clearly. I scored it 116-112 for Felix. (8-4).

Ive put this challenge out many times to "Murray was robbed" posters on here over the years - and zero ever took me up on it! Not one.

So once again: Will you rewatch the sturm-murray fight and then come back on her with a list of the rounds Murray won?

I hope martin gets a nice payday and enjoys a long healthy and happy life by the way. I wish him nothing but good. He has given his all for boxing and never let us fans down in many hard fights over the years.

 

If this was a matchroom fight everyone would be crucifying it! I get it they want to keep BJS active but its not the best fight, I heard rumours about it but didn't believe them as can't believe Murray deserves a shot. Fair play to Saunders though could just sit back and wait

 

He put a broken down bad knee Martinez to the canvas then has had all these title shots and come up short. He also says he doesn't watch boxing and i get the impression he doesn't like it much, either. Murray is just in it for the money.

He was unlucky with Sturm but i never rated Sturm much, either. Sturm and his management were shady people in general purposely ducking Golovkin etc

Sturm was a close one, can’t argue too much with your scoring and the Abraham fight was close too, so i’m not disagreeing with you on them fights...the only one I believe was a robbery was the Martinez, mate.

Can't actually see how you can score it for Martinez. Murray won by at least 3 rounds.

Sturm and Abe both beat him IMO but were close fights, Murray did just enough to lose though. I suppose there is an argument that Murray could have nicked one or both.

 

I think you’re doing him a big injustice saying he’s just in it for the money. Of course none of them would do it for free, but Murray has a massive heart and a great chin. Despite taking a beating off GGG, he never gave in. If it was just for the money he would have stayed on the canvas. He took a leathering from Groves and never gave up despite taking some big shots. That’s not the actions of a man just in it for the money.

 

Thank god for that, was starting to think I was wearing my rose tinted glasses.
I’ve said it loads on here, i’ve supported Murray throughout his pro career and wanted him desperately to win a title...but ultimately, he only has himself to blame cos he never quite did enough against Sturm and Abraham.

Who would have thought when Murray won the prize fighter as a unknown he would fight for this many world title that has to be the most title challenges for the UK fighter with out winning one not the he deserved them all but he gave it his all and left no what ifs after he loses this maby have a crack at the Euro title then retire
