Cotto was quoting as saying he thought GGG won the fight very comfortably and that would be the fight to pursue. Got to give him credit for that.
Don't write off Thurman so easily, I think he's a stylistic nightmare for Earl, don't read too much into the body shots that hurt him against Collazo, Collazo has very underrated power, the only guy he never managed to hurt was Khan. Although that's because he didn't land cleanly on Khan enough. I doubt Spence would be able to keep Thurman in range long enough to do effective body work to slow him down or hurt him. Think about it, Brook basically stood in front of Spence for the first half of the match and outboxed him, with little movement, Run Time will be in full effect against Spence, and Spence lacks the lateral movement to deal with Thurman, he tends to need to set his feet to get off multiple shots. Thurman took Garcia and Porter's shot well, he can take the little Spence will land.
I hope to god you're right. If Spence beats Thurman I'm imaging a lot of posters on here will stick him as P4P number 1. Hopefully Spence does try and work the body(without caution) with those long range efforts and 1 time lays a left hook into that roided up face of his.
Big call. I'm also a fan of both fighters and wouldn't be rooting for any particular boxer but realistically going of past performances and their styles I don't see Bill winning this. I just don't think he will be able to perturb Gennady from coming forward and inevitably the pressure will be too much. The thing about Bill and traveller's in general is they have a lot of pride, Gennady would have to properly finish Bill because he will stick in till then end for sure, he definitely won't be looking for a way out as others have. Non related too above but I've heard Cotto is meant to be an absolute tool outside of the ring. I do like his boxing though.
