Saunders v lemeiux

Really good fight. Saunders will be able to outbox Lemieux but we've seen too many times how he tires toward the end. If Lemieux can condition himself to be active for 12 rounds he has a good chance of stopping Saunders late on in the fight

 

I can only see Lemieux knocking BJS out. BJS will start well outboxing Lemieux but he will start to fade and will be taken out.

 

The money on offer is nowhere near the same. Saunders doesn't want to risk defeat as then a fight vs GGG or Canelo is gone.

 

Great fight - would lobe to this see. Proper boxer v puncher match-up

 

The problem with holding belts to ransom is the longer you hold them for, the more money you want when you finally exchange them.

I reckon BJS would have defended against Lemieux if he was his mandatory straight after Andy Lee 18 months ago. After this much time has passed he'll be pulling every trick in the book for his next defense to be against Canelo vs GGG winner. That means somehow managing not to fight until then, or taking the lowest possible risk defense.

I think Fwank will be using every bit of that leverage he has over the WBO to make sure they don't have to fight Lemieux. He didn't seem to want to talk about Lemieux in his latest IFLTV interview that's for sure.

Risky fight, but at world level they generally should be. If BJS can get back to his best would fancy him to pip Lemieux, if not I think he loses. Either way I think this would be a terrific match up and close either way. Would say BJS hasn't beat anyone that at the time of fighting them that was better than Lemieux.

 

The rumour is it will be coupled with GGG v Canrlo in a double header ppv. If this is the case, bjs will be paid handsomely.

 

For me it all depends on what sort of Saunders shows up. Great contrast of styles here and I envisage Saunders losing down the stretch.

 

Both have leaky gas tanks, just a question of whose tank empties first.

Lemieux has the pop to take BJS out imo, but he has to find the target and an in form BJS would give him fits. If the best BJS turns up i see him frustrating Lemieux. He'll feint, move and offer angles, Lemieux will either mange to find a hole and take BJS out, or he'll blow his load trying and BJS will weather the storm and win a narrow points decision.

The only question marks are BJS famed laziness, and his lack of in ring discipline when theres a tear up on offer.

The best BJS wins 7-5 or a SD, the mug who turned up last time gets taken out inside 4.

 

Why do people think Lemeiux will take BJS out? I know Lemeiux has firepower but BJS has a ****ing granite chin.

 

Personally I think Bill runs rings around Lemieux

 

And billy joe is a great boxer full stop. Good boxers beat good punchers

 

BJS continuing to blow up in weight and his lack of stamina in fights. I think any fighter who can make Saunders work and move for 3 mins of every round will see by halfway a BJS running on empty.

 

I agree, plus BJS has had one fight in 18 months since winning the title, against Arthur Akakov. Lemieux has had 4 fights in that time including a good stoppage over Curtis Stevens. Lemieux will have the natural fitness and sharpness. If he applies proper pressure BJS will get stopped on his feet
