Saunders v Murray off

Wonder if this means that BJS GGG is in the pipeline. Gutting for Murray, he's had some bad luck in his career. I would have thought the least Warren would do is get him on the show anyway as he's a name and deserves the payday after training twice. Not sure who his main promoter is these days. Would have thought Frank would have to downsize the venue now... there's going to be too many empty seats.

 

Standard Warren pull out, but guys lets be honest, they have sold no tickets as its a unappealing fight, and tbh, even if saunders was main, bt would of got killed in ratings with Taylor Postol anyway..?

 

One of two things has happened, probably a combination of both actually.

First, Saunders looked immense against Lemieux because Lemieux’s plodding one-punch style made him look amazing. Murray would have dragged him into a dog fight and it would have been hard to look slick, even though he would win convincingly. Half of the BJS hype now stems from the Lemieux win. British fans have known BJS is one of the slickest out there but American fans only became aware of him after the Lemieux fight. Joe Rogan was raving about it. Saunders wants to go straight into a GGG or Canelo fight on the back of it.

Second, Frankie boy has regurgitated his long-used trick of pulling a show with poor ticket sales and making up an excuse because he can’t cover the purses with such a poor sale.

 

On another note how can anyone ever pay for a Warren show? There’s just too much risk involved. I’m never going to even be interested in buying tickets for a Warren show unless he was promoting something mental like GGG-Saunders or Wilder-Fury. He’s so unreliable.

I didn't see the point of this fight anyway. Gutted for Murray because he has been really messed around. Saunders has pulled out of so many fights that it's at the point where you would only buy a ticket after the weigh in or on the day. He is untrustworthy.

 

With him it’s debatable whether it’s a copper box show. Without him surely it’s a York Hall show?

 

It's literally the promoters job to help the fighters draw crowds. I wouldn't be shocked if Okile v Chamberlain sold more. And Saunders is a world champion.

 

Has anyone kept track of how many times Saunders has withdrawn in his career? It has to be getting up there.

Probably rubbing their hands together to be fair. All roads lead to BJS in a big money fight by looks of things.
