everyone watching that fight now knows what a ****ing shambles that corner is and none of it is ronnie davis's fault . major changes need to be made but who the hell is going to tell the eubanks ? and even if someone did are they likely to listen ? ronnie should walk , its just embarrassing for him in my opinion .
He was on a very decent 6 figure sum. Had some conflicting figures, but it was definitely north of £150k.
Are those lads in the picture the same travellers that stole peoples ringside seats and then threatened them when confronted? Anyway, still waiting on his retirement announcement, seeing as he failed to get a bum out of there within 6 rounds........
What trainer worth his salt would put up with that type of behaviour anyway. He is just a bucket man and yes Boss man.
Eubank did a lot better than I thought he would. Apart from physicality/size, which is very important obviously, BJS went into that fight with every advantage. To be honest I expected Billy Joe to pitch a shutout. So maybe CEJ does indeed have a future in boxing? But his power is definitely overrated...his shots don't really connect with any real fizz, they just look spectacular from the cheap seats...
100% agree, I was embarrassed for Ronnie at times. I also see parallels with Groves & jnr with the "all i need is somebody to carry the spit bucket attitude", all very well when you're winning but surely jnr knows changes have to be made. That fight was close enough for sound advice to have changed the outcome.. BJS won clearly though & the suggestion jnr won is actually funny now having watched it again. Saunders impressed me with the discipline & attention to the gameplan throughout. Card finished late but trounced the garbage we got last week
If chris jr can lose the ego, attitude and arrogance, and knuckle down to learn the fundamentals of bixing...which he clearly doesn't have .....then I still have some hope for him. Even more so .if he can stay at 160. Chavez jr came on in leaps and bounds after lots of build up fights and maybe this guy can too?
Im new heer but thought i'd throw in my 2 cents. I talked to Ronnie last night and I wouldn't be shocked if he walked away sooner rather than later. I know he was told before the fight by SR to not say anything and you could see it was getting to him by the 6th. If his Dad steps away and Jr takes his avice then I think he could still make it but if his Dad doesn't step away i can see his career falling flat.
The hype was Jnr was going ko bjs, regardless of Snr hogging the limelight. The hype train needs some adjusting imo.
I thought going in that BJS would win a very wide decision. (Although the SD was a disgrace ). For me CEJ did better thanI expected. Certainly not bad enough to write him off yet. BJS could be a world champion (of sort!) by next spring. Losing on points to such a man leaves some grounds for optimism IMO, particularly if he can stay at 160, but a lot has to change if CEJ is to make it.
