At welter along with Mayweather you have Marquez, Pacquiao, Bradley as the percieved top fighters there.
History wise thats not a stacked division.
Neither Marquez, Pacquiao, or Bradley would do well matched up with the alltime great welters as they are not naturally true welters.
In the case of Bradley, he's a good fighter but not p4p even in that upper class.

Mayweather has never fought a true great in his prime, and currently there are'nt any of those around.
So what does a fighter do under these circumstances to leave a lasting legacy you might say?????

The one thing Mayweather could do is take on all comers and not just matchup against styles easy for his style.

Picking Maidana is a prime example of a cherrypick as Maidana has nothing to offer that Mayweather has'nt allready seen.
Maidana is slow and he telegraphss his punches. It cant get much easier for Mayweather.
Khan does have physical and boxing attributes to possibly trouble Mayweather and what I'm seeing now is genius by Mayweather in trying to wiggle out of a fight with Khan and posting a popularity contest so that he could rather fight Maidana which would be a much easier style matchup for himself.

If you're a true boxing fan intrigued with style matchups you know that a B level fighter with the right style can very well trouble and even beat an A level fighter not accustomed to facing a particular style.

Quickness, speed, power, those are physical attributes that Khan has more of than Mayweather.
When has Mayweather ever faced that dillema??????

A bum doesn't perform the way Maidana did in his recent fight. Want to see bums literally molesting each other on the canvas?, continue watching UFC.

How is he trying to wiggle out of it lol? He could just say khan hasn't earn it and everyone would agree. Heck it was a shock floyd was even considering that fight let alone saying he now wants out of it..

quickness and speed are the same thing so thats one attribute lol and power? really? He couldn't even hurt the smaller molina..More often than not he'd get a ko due to his speed. The best fighters don't just get beat by a guy who has one attribute... have you not noticed how amir khan fights go? He wins the first few while his opponents figures his speed and times it... soon as that happens he starts running and gets hunted. The only exciting thing is thinking 'will he survive'

Maidana is a ridiculously easy matchup for Floyd. Are you part of the Mayweather promotional team trying to prop up this joke? It's a total mismatch and Floyd knows it and any decent analyst knows it. So either you're part of the Mayweather machine or you're stupid. Which is it?

Khan is a joke too but he might win a round, at least. Maidana is too slow. Floyd runs circles around him. It's so lopsided, it's not even worth buying on PPV. At least Khan's speed might be interesting, even if Khan is easy work too.

    This Mayweather poll is basically:

Easy (Khan) vs Easier (Maidana), who should Floyd fight? It's sad.

    dude,
calling true champions and former champions BUMS isn't cool man.
there is 1 ONE former titlist i call a bum and thats marg because he has NO skill and was found to be cheating with foreign f ucking objects. sh!t i would have won titles with loaded wraps.

but calling even true journeymen "bums is disgraceful and why would you follow a sport and pretend to be a fan of a sport where "bums" can win titles

    There both jokes !

They just don't like to hear the truth !

No one and I mean one who has any sense wants to see Floyd with all his talents in the ring again with an over matched opponent ! And these 2 are the epitome of over matched opponents but his fans will try to elevate them as great fighters !

These 2 fights have the excitement of the Baldmimor fight written all over it ..But since they can't accept the truth your labled a hater

Yep. That's why I said the poll is basically Easy vs Easier, who should I fight? They are both easy fights for Floyd.

I'm sick of the sycophants even using Floyd's lingo to prop up these poor fights "true champion" and "strong young lion" and stuff like that. They sound like parrots or it even reminds me of the good communists towing the party line. It shows no independent thought and the language confirms it. They need to learn some critical thinking skills or at least how to analyze boxing... Just a little. It's sad and these fights are sad.

Do you guys really think this will make a difference. If Floyd wanted to fight whom ever the fans chose he would have fought Pac already

    Couldn't agree more !:good

Gatti was a champion when Floyd fought him yet no one in their right mind considered him a great champ but more so a belt holder yet Floyd fans want to elevate him to this status like he was Kosta Tysu ! I'm sick of these guys as well repeating the same **** he says when all he is doing is scamming the public !

Completely agree but then who else is there for him to fight at the moment?
Garcias dad advised danny not to fight just yet (so i hear?) Thurmans probably not ready yet and doesn't bring a big fan base to the fight. Porter aint ready. There really isn't many options

Obviously theres the top rank guys and these fights shoulder happen, but for whatever reason they don't so we gotta accept that.

I'd personally love to see a cotto rematch but he's busy with sergio anyways..
