I know it is a long shot and when I say long I mean full court long. But, I am hoping that somehow Kevin Johnson can pull the Buster Douglas and get an upset win over Vitali. One only has to look at the hype David Haye is getting and realize that the publicity Kevin Johnson would get with a win over Vitali would be great for Boxing. Haye saved us from Valuev now hopefully Johnson can save us for Vitali. But, I am not getting my hopes up.

It wouldn't be like Tokyo Douglas, not even close. Johnson is being sold short (though he'll most likely lose). He does have a chance - he's physically prime and gifted, while Vitali is still sharp but well-weathered...far more vulnerable than Tyson at the time (who had begun to slip minimally already, but people really overstate it).

The only similarity between Buster and Kingpin is their chronic laziness. :yep Hopefully Kevin can flip the switch as did James that one magical night.

What's wrong with Vitali? He's given us some of the best, most exciting heavyweight fights in the last 10 years.

Looking at in more practical terms: from the unification roadblock. :good

Agreed. I don't understand the OPs post at all.

You want Kevin Johnson to beat one of the best heavyweights in recent years....a heavyweight who came back after a multiple year layoff to make then champ Peter quit on his stool, and who continues to dominate the competition with his latest beat down of a good fighter in Arreola ????

You want Vitali to lose to Kevin Johnson to save us??

    :huh:huh:huh

On one hand I'd rather have a unification fight then a double-headed dragon.

On the other hand I don't want a Klitschko to lose just for the sake of it. If someone's good enough to go in there and take it from one of them then so be it, but I'm not going to pine for someone like KingPin to be the 'savior' I know he's not.

You know there's going to be a rematch, right?
    (Unless Haye loses to Ruiz)

Uh...save us from what? lol Vitali is the ONLY person in the division in which multiple exciting fights can be made. He's like the glue that binds the **** together. Without him in the picture...zzzzzz I mean, I wish Johnson all the luck in the world, but if he succeeds, things won't all of a sudden be better cause there's an American Champion...

Thats right, Klichko bros have the highest knockout ratio (some where between 80-90%) and yet people think that a guy with less then 50% ko ratio will "save" us:patsch
