:roflatsch Vitali has lost 1 whole round since he returned. I like Johnson but he is a one armed fighter and is going to get crushed.
How exactly would Kevin Johnson be a step up from Vitali? What we need is a holyfield. Not a guy whos just as boring as they are but black.
Not a step up. An opportunity for unification. Obviously Wlad is going to become the undisputed unified HW champion eventually. All the red tape pomp and circumstance, slap and tickle nonsense delaying it is what's hurting the division (and, arguably, to some extent, the sport). Anything that expedites it is to be welcomed. A clear unambiguous champ in the unlimited division = casual interest in the sport, meaning increased interest from television networks and their sponsors, meaning wider exposure, meaning more money to go around, meaning more and better big fights. Name of the game.
**** maybe. Im black and I cant see why anyone would want Johnson to be the heavyweight champ. I watched a clip of him last night and it was as boring as anything the klits have produced. Atleast they are nice to watch from a technical standpoint. People need to remember, we liked Tyson and Holyfield because they were highly active and highly entertaining. Not because of the color of their skin or nationality.
I don't fully understand this thread? Save us from what? Guys, we've been spoiled by both Klitschko brothers and all the while the haters haven't noticed. The Klitschkos don't avoid fighters. You want to see a prime example of a heavyweight title holder who avoids fighters and big fights, pay attention to David Haye for the next 3 years.
Hmm. Haye ducking somebody doesn't seem likely... :think And this Kevin guy, he has had like 22 wins and only 9 of them came from knock-outs. :huh He don't sound dangerous to me at all. But I guess if Haye chose to fight Kevin instead of Monte, then you would of said he was ducking Monte, right? :good
"save us" from what? Vitali's fights are ok. We can moan about the competition but think about it realistically-there isn't any.
Yea that's just what the division needs. A new champion with no power, a fighter whose every fight is almost guaranteed to go the distance, lazy, out of shape and overrated. Vitali isn't always pretty to watch but at least he stops people and brings some excitement. Johnson is the next "Arreola" and will be exposed for what he is come fight night. To beat Vitali you need heavy hands and incredible speed and stamina. Johnson's got none of those things.
he ain't gonna win but it's not accurate to say he doesn't have power, he's on a nice little ko string i believe and in his espn fight he absolutely destroyed devin vargas physically... just beat the crap out of him
Okay to elaborate on my orginal post. The Klits are considered boring by the general public. Everyone I talk to that are casul boxing fans can't stand them they call them boring. At least Kevin Johnson has some charima and that is important.
