In recent years we have seen the new Golden Age in boxing. I highly doubt MMA will overtake Boxing in the pugilistic arena. Here are the golden fights for the Golden Age: 1. Vasquez-Marquez 1 2 3 2. Pacquiao-Morales 1 2 3. Pacquiao-Marquez 2 4. Taylor-Pavlik 1 5. Cotto-Mosley 6. Katsidis-Casamayor 7. Corrales-Castillo 8. Mayweather-Hatton 9. Amonsot-Katsidis 10. Cotto-Torres 11. Arce-Hussein Feel free to add fights I've missed (many).
Shouldn't Money - Hoya be in that list. Sure it wasn't exciting but it was the biggest fight in the history of boxing.
no that would never happen unless the boxer managed to get a lucky punch in. in MMA they would just take it to the ground and stomp the boxer... and i like boxing alot more then MMA. but no MMA wont overtake boxing.
Mayhar Monshipour v Somsak Sithchatchawal is a great and often forgot about fight(Ring magazine fight of the year 2006) . Pavlik v Miranda was a very good fight .
Depending on how far back we're going: DLH/Mosley 1&2 Taylor/Hopkins 1&2 Peter/Toney Jones/Tarver 1,2,&3 Calzaghe/Kessler Pavlik/Miranda Miranda/Abraham There are a lot of good fights to add to the list - including the up-and-coming fights. Hopkins/Calzaghe Mosley/Judah
Miranda vs Abraham Dzindziruk vs Santos Virchis vs Bidenko Tokarev vs Arslan Abraham vs Gevor Briggs vs Adamek
Taylor Hopkins 1 and 2 were snoozefests. It was a high-caliber match between two greats but the fight wasnt good enough. How can I forget Rahman-Maskaev. Rahman was OUT! out of the ring! :good
