This was the first time I had ever viewed Amir Kahn, and perhaps maybe the 3rd or 4th time seeing Malignaggi.. I was fairly impressed with Kahn's work.. He won every round, and was finding all kinds of ways to nail a very fast and experienced opponent.. I really felt sorry for Malignaggi though.. His corner probably should have stopped the fight at the end of the 10th.. He was taking too many unanswered shots in there, plus had no power to score a come from behind KO.. Good showing though.. Kahn had a great debut in America, while Pauli at least showed heart...
kahn fought well his jab was great the right hand looked a bit sloppy. Paulie just didnt move enough or throw enough right hands - khan looked for the jab and left hook and that was it. That said Paulie did get through with some shots as Khan was really marked up at the end. THat said only the A fighters have beaten Paulie so far so Khan is progressing well
Khan fought well, but I felt he was a bit 'Klitscho' Jab heavy, don't remember seeing any real combos other than the jab one two's, Still, credit where credit is due, he did more than enough to beat a real busy & slick opponent put in front of him... well done
Saw him for the 2nd time.First time he got KTFO by Prescott.Pretty impressive against Paulie but not in the same league as Bradley or Alexander-yet.
It was a good performance. Not amazing, but definitely good, and it was against the best fighter he's ever faced, so that's a bonus point. Khan normally looks better than that, but I suppose it's because he stepped up his opposition level. For me, the highlight of the night was the jab. I rarely see a good jab in even elite fighters these days, but Khan jabbed beautifully, and not only that, but he was out-jabbing a guy whose best punch, throughout his career, has been the jab. We've seen people muscle up Paulie, but rarely seen him out-sped and out-jabbed like that. Good stuff. Credit to Malignaggi for staying in there, pleading to go on, and often making Khan miss or making him look a bit awkward, especially in the early rounds, and countering him. Bradley and Alexander still look better, though. Khan needs to start off with Ortiz and Maidana so we can really get a handle on what level he's at. I'm not even sure he would get past those two, to be honest.
