i saw it again and gave canelo 4 rounds. a lot of the rounds were close early on. mayweather did just enough to win he didn't cut canelo up or wobble him, knock him down etc etc and that's why i'm not a big fan of mayweather at a higher weight. he definitely won but not exciting IMO. it was like watching slap boxing lol!!!

Canelo gave him very little openings. Floyd respected Canelo's counter-punching ability and didn't over-committed with his punches. Canelo tried to bait him a few times to rush in face first as Trout did a few times against Canelo, but Floyd was simply too smart to took the bait and just kept his distance and stabbed the jab to Canelo's torso and followed upstairs with a few right hooks. Floyd fought a brilliant fight against a strong guy.

good points you got to give floyd credit for his ring IQ, i just want to see blood and knockdowns not this coasting be careful just do enough to win ****, but that's just me. perhaps the floyd fans are content with that style as long as he gets that W, not me.

You guys are so dumb. Floyd was being matched very well with Canelo for the first half of the fight. Canelo was fainting well, not falling for floyd's tricks, and kept changing strategy. Canelo is himself a master boxer. The difference in the first half of the fight was speed. That was it. Then Floyd broke away as he adjusted a bit better and showed Canelo so many different looks - it was absolutely brilliant. But it took brilliance (and comparatively better speed) to out-think and outbox Canelo. Why else do you think Floyd showed more respect to Canelo at the post-presser as he has with anyone else. Canelo is the real deal, and this fight brought out the best of both of them.

I thought he should have set up the overhand right a bit more, but he knew that Canelo was smart enough to counter him and didn't took unnecessary risks. I was surprisingly impressed when he stood his ground and took a lot of hard glancing blows to the elbows and shoulders and he still had his eyes on Canelo and was always in position to landed a few sneaky counters. The guy is simply a genius inside the ring.

Mayweather is a smart guy, and maybe he figured that he would do what was needed to comfortably outpoint his opponent without injuring himself in the process. He still had the elbow dislocation, but otherwise walked away unscathed with yet another W and yet another big payday.

canelo was hitting into floyds arms when he would go into that shoulder roll position. That can and will have the effect od deading the arm. Wouldnt be surprised if the dislocated elbow ( we would of seen if it was actually dislocated) was a dead arm from taking solid shots that were meant todo damage. That was part of the gameplan Canelo was alluding to before the fight i reckon.

Has Canelo ever been able to go forward at pace?:huh he stumbled forward several times and looked awkward trying to rush at Floyd. I thought his timing was the problem but the real problem may have been him getting timed by the master:think

    Its pretty obvious.

He feared Canelos power and didn't want to take too many risks that were not necessary.

    Its that simple.

He did what he needed to do to win, took minimal punishment, and that's about it.

People are acting like Floyd destroyed Canelo. He clearly won but Canelo hung tough. Deal with it and stop trying to make Floyd look better than he was.

You sound like one of those racist jerks on castefootball. I bet you are from that site and come here to troll.

For those that don't believe me, check out the site and the posters' repeated reference to Mayweather as a weasle when talking about Canelo being unable to hit him.
