    I agree.

I truly believe that the only reasons this fight was so contraversial were because

    1. The underdog won
    2. It was probably the biggest non hwt fight in history
    3. Hagler was so bitterly disgusted with himself (not the judges) that after yrs of believing he could beat & wanting to fight srl, that when it finally happened, he got outboxed.

    DLH Mosely 2
    Morales MAB 2
    Lewis Holy 1

THOSE FIGHTS are fights where the loser should really feel hard done by in really big title fights, not a fight were the right guy got the verdict & the bigger guy throws a 20 yr tantrum.... yes BIGGER guy... he lost to a (great) welterweight.

    Cheers.

What a bunch of crap! Hagler wasn't interested in fighting some wimpy welterweight who was sent into retirement by another fighter.

This is the same kind of example in which Micheal Spinks decisioned Larry Holmes because Larry too dried up. Larry had been losing fights since the Witherpsoon fight in 83. Hagler was dired up too like Holmes and Jeff Chandler, only Hagler didnt lose to Leonard because Leonard didnt do enough to win. He just got the judges on his side.

Butcher, you know why Norris-Leonard got no controversy? Because there was no controversy over the scoring, that's why.

And not only was Norris the underdog but he wasn't any bigger than SRL. Leonard was even favored, had better expeirence, bigger reputation, and even fought Leonard in the place Leonard chose. Even with all that going against him he still won. And Terry Norris never been in a big fight in his life!

leonard had all the advantages and didnt put up no fight except the second round. That's when Terry taught Ray a lesson and put him on the floor, because he wasnt respecting Terry Norris. He does now.

    Cheers.

I had it a draw. Too close to give to either man. Too bad they did'nt fight when they were both in thier primes. Would have been one of the all time greats with Hagler winning IMO.

Sounds like a fair score. A very popular score for Leonard, 115-113.

Prime Hagler stops the MW version of Leonard. The 1987 version of Hagler was several years removed from prime, unfortunately, and he lost fair an square.

    Close, but clear.

Hagler vs Leonard seems to cause a ruckus. Is there any middle ground on who won consensus rounds that the two sides can agree on?
