What next for the two fighters, who fights who and who is then the top Welter in the division??? :huh:huh
Clottey winning would do some serious damage to Pac's career and legacy - a lot more so than if the Mayweather fight hadn't been in the works - then fell though. If there is ANY fight a fighter just straight up doesn't need to lose, it's this one for Pac. But the answer to your question is easy...if Clottey wins, he should fight the winner of Mosley-Mayweather, and Pacquiao would need a redemption fight...I'm not sure who against. JMM, maybe.
Maybe an immediate rematch? If Pac should prevail in a rematch, the superfight may still happen, just interest might go down abit. Clottey would get mad respect and a new star would be born for sure if Clottey won. Clottey would be huge in Africa like Pac in the Philipines and would be the new African hero. Clottey's a humble and likeable fighter like Pac.
If he doesnt hang them up I reckon he will still fight Mayweather-Mosley winner..Its still be a long shot the biggest fight out there, even if its hype will take a hit if Manny loses.
i think clottey has a pretty decent shot. i think pac wil have a decent bit of trouble landing on him. we'll see, but i don't think this is such an easy fight for pac.
PAC can always go back to 140lbs. His campaign at WW is supposedly his max weight not necessarily his optimum . Clottey can get a shot at the winner of the Mosely-Mayweather fight. Or he can move up to 154 and fight the badboys there.
Tough to say. Clottey would call out the winner of Mosley vs Mayweather and Pacman would either retire or try to get a rematch.
If Clottey wins, he'll either rematch Pac, Cotto or Margo. One loss wouldn't neutralize everything that Manny has done in the last few years. If he doesn't retire, he goes on to have more mega fights because his following is that loyal... Unless of course he keeps losing.
I think that if Clottey wins, no matter how he wins, the winner of Mosley vs. Mayweather will become the #1 Welterweight. Furthermore, if he is not able to beat Pacquiao by a wide margin, I can still see Pacquiao ranked ahead of him. If this happens the winner of Mosley vs. Mayweather will rather face Pacquiao because there is a higher dollar value. The loser might consider facing Clottey. On the other hand, if Clottey destroys Pacquiao, I can't see Pacquiao taking on an even greater challenge by facing the winner (or loser) of Mayweather vs. Mosley. He will probably take a break while the winner of Mayweather vs. Mosley will be left with bragging rights to determine who will be the #1 Welterweight by facing Clottey.
Either a rematch... or Clottey would fight the winner of Mayweather - Mosley while Pac would fight JMM for a third time at 140.
I wouldn't be too suprised.. I'm picking Pac to win but I see the fight as a matter of who can execute their fight plan best
