Duran fought joppy when he was in his late forties, he might have even been 50 or so I can't remember. If he beat a prime middleweight contender at this point (who continues to go on and have the same career) where does Duran rank in your books? Could this push him to #1. Beating someone good at that age? It would show longetivity never seen before

It all depends on how he pulls it off.

If Duran beat Joppy at ~46 years old, he would have done the near-impossible. I'd probably boost him up a slot -not #1, never -because of his inconsistency and New Orleans.

I have him 6th or 7th all time, but if he beat Joppy, he would be about 5th

Wouldn't affect it too much, probably not enough to move him a spot.

It would be very good but he'd be ranked roughly the same.

Instead of getting props it would be a very bad reflection on the crop of middleweights if a 50 year old man won.

Does not matter, Duran retired after the Barkley fight. The thing that fought in the 90s may of shared his name, but was prove that humans are being cloned.... badly!;)

All it would have done is prove how laughably incompetent William Joppy actually was.

He wouldn't move in terms of placement, but it would be a nice story to tell when discussing him. Kinda like the Pep winning a round without throwing a punch story. Doesn't make Pep any greater, but it adds an extra wow.
