If Gamboa beats Rios impressively, then he may very well have the tools to take advantage of an aging Marquez. Mixing it up between playing counter puncher and attacking in combination could make Marquez look slow, especially if he tries to use a lot of footwork. Then again, I could see Marquez not falling for his ****, and winning a hard-fought decision or late KO. It all depends on how sharp JMM comes in.
I really think Gamboa's team has their sights set on Pacman. Plus, I'm not really sure how much interest Marquez has in making this fight happen. He seems pretty set on getting a 4th shot at Manny.
If he loses to jmm then his stock plummets according to esb'ers if he wins the weight drop affected Marquez, personally I think Marquez should stay at 140/147 if Gamboa beats Rios he should dominate the division for a while and if he does move up it should be through careful matchmaking with slow non mobile top contents.
but at 140... if he deeats rios then that means he is super special not just special as I see him, and marquez gots to employ that Pacquiao gamplan when it comes to dealing with weights for every advantage he can get especially at this stage of his career lol... hey and If gamboa wins we will be talking about top 3 P4P fighter but JMM a beast and he can give Pacquiao a boxing lesson I wonder what he would do with a hungry guy who has the speed, power and boxing skills to trouble him..well power we have to wait and see against rios.
Not much to dominate at 135 right now.... all the money is at 140-147 But there are huge Mexican names and if gamboa wants to be huge which I am sure ARUM is hoping for, he is trying to follow the PACQUIAO blue print of building him and letting him make memorable fights with Mexicans to blow up his name... you got 2 good names with Mexis at 135.. Demarco Miguel Vazquez Marquez (IMO marquez a 140 fighter now though)
