Its not like he competed in a great MW era, but he seems to be many peoples pick for greatest MW ever.

Actually, I would say that most people pick Monzon at the top middleweight of all-time, and the same could be said for him. Both men made a habit of fighting guys moving up as signature wins. It's the same with Hopkins. That doesn't make any of those guys over-rated.

Hagler still has a great period of dominance at middleweight over the course of 6 years, making 12 defences and beating the likes of Antuofermo, Hamsho, Sibson, Hearns, unbeaten Mugabi, 160lbs version of Duran who still beat Barkley at the weight. And he's a nightmare for anyone at middleweight head-to-head courtesy of power, durability and ability to box or brawl with technical skill.

 

Both Pac and Floyd have been disappointments north of 140.

As much as I liked Hagler, I think that he showed himself NOT to be the GOAT at Middleweight when he wasn't able to stop a blown up lightweight in Duran, over the 15 rounds.

I also believe that Mosley was shot when he fought Floyd and that in his fight against Margo, he wasn't quite shot, but that was 18 months earlier, Margo's mind was not there because of the wraps issue and it was the mythical moment of "every great old fighter has one great performance left in him".
