but man that dude is never in a boring fight, win or lose. thats why im still a fan needs a new trainer though.
agreed. if only he could get it together. and stop ****ing fouling. two fights in a row he fouls someone then goes embrace him.
But that's the thing. Most of us do enjoy watching him fight but if he quits every other time he fights, whats the point in watching him. Another thing, people have got to stop blaming the trainer everytime a fighter get exposed. Ortiz was doing his thing in the fight, (as well as in the Maidana fight as he had knocked him down 3 times). You cant blame a trainer for lack of mental strength.
Dumping Danny after he split up the brothers? Supposedly Victor thought Robert should train him exclusively and that's when he made off with Danny. In my opinion if he left Danny now would be pretty low. But, considering I think Victor should leave boxing now anyhow, who cares?
To be honest, the fight was ****ing sweet until he quit, I was loving it. I don't know how much pain he was in but with 3 rounds to go, you know most fighters would battle on if it meant anything to them. Even just one more round to go for the KO, it sometimes pays off and the fighters credit goes through the roof when they win with an injury like that. I don't blame him for quitting, he's done far more than I ever did in boxing. If I saw him today I'd say "great fight mate, shame about the broken jaw, good effort"
I agree with Andy. It's not like he folded against Maidana or after the seventh round, he was injured. It would have been badass of him to continue as others have, but only he knows if he could have.
I was thinking this earlier aswell. Despite Ortiz's mental lapses, the dude has been in some very entertaining fights
the same way you can be a fan of a guy like Mayweather who went 3 solid years making excuses not to fight the only guy that could possibly beat him. what a coincidence they never fought
