roach does not select or negotiate on who manny should fight.

plus, cotto was pre-destined to be pac's next opponent at that time when miguel re-signed with tr.

Floyd fought a version of Shane that Manny was unwilling to. Yeah, Shane lost a close decision to Cotto, and then he went on to brutally **** up the guy who brutally ****ed up Cotto. Manny and his team wanted no part of that version of Shane who was calling his ass out. Floyd took the challenge.

If not for Pacquiao's ***** ass trying to drain Cotto back down to 147 even though he was willing to go to 150 for Cheato, he'd be the one fighting Cotto next, and you'd be praising him for it, but Floyd's willing to fight him at his weight and you talk ****? Get the **** outta here.

A rematch with Cotto was going to be pointless for Pacquiao and people looked down on the idea. No one wanted that fight to happen, especially when it surely was going to be at 147 or 150.

Mayweather might have taken Ortiz, who was a joke of a fight, but the Cotto fight is a good challenging fight and he's moving up for it. So, there's nothing to complain about here. Only hardcore haters would be against this fight.

Roach doesn't select but he advises.

Well, whoever does "select or negotiate on who Manny should fight" was unwilling to "select or negotiate" with Shane until he started looking well past it, even though Shane was calling his ass out and there was plenty of public demand.

What's your pathetic excuse for Manny trying to drain Cotto down to 147 when he's already fought and won at 150?

-shane got the fight when he finally figured out who was the person to talk to.

-pac can only make 148 on fight night. after eating a full breakfast, he only weighs in at 144.

is it within reason to ask him to fight at a weigh in limit of 150???
now, let me hear you pathetic answer.

guys can claim roach doesnt select pacs fighters....thats fine...but if you think he isnt consulted on it...then yer prob in denial....he is consulted...and if he thinks someone is a major risk it will be noted....shane begged and pleaded for the pac fight before cotto got it....even said hed drain his old ass down to 140 for it

i still dont understand those who would call the ortiz fight a "joke"....sure vic isnt the best fighter in the world by any stretch....but he was a legit 147 champ....he was young...he was lefthanded...and he weighed 165 on fightnight.....ko aside...floyd was carving him up and frustrating the **** out of him...dominating punch stats(even those werent truly reflective of the domination as floyds jabs were measuring/pawing and not really meant to land)

Yep, and I ****ing guarantee he told Manny the same thing (Shane's "too big") before he went on to fight a naturally bigger guy than Shane in a drained Cotto. The fact is Cotto looked like the easier fight at that point, which pretty much blows the idea that "Manny always takes on the biggest challenges" completely out of the water.

These are the same folks that said Lamont Peterson wasn't an attraction but now they are fighting Tim Bradley? (Tim barely sells out his events, not many casual fans know who he is).

Shane got the fight when he started looking very beatable. The person to talk to had no interest in speaking with him before that.

He's done it before and won. Cheato was at 154 and held a belt there, same as Cotto, but 150 is not far enough for Cotto to drain down. Nah, Manny needs him to come all the way back down to 47 to give Manny the advantage that he's comfortable with. :yep

Many looked down on the idea of Cotto having to come back down to 47, but I didn't see any Pacquiao fans complaining about this fight when they were in negotiations. If anything, they were doing just the opposite. :deal

Miguel never *beat* Shane. He may have narrowly won the beauty contest but that fight could have gone either way and Cotto was in FULL RETREAT during the latter rounds...
