Many, many do. But most cannot stay. And most that stay cannot even stomach to stay as themselves. It takes huge character and humility to be able to hang as yourself as a pro boxer on the net websites. These fans are ruthless and many of them target these pros who do share with us with the goal of running them off. I've seen Shannon Briggs ran off sites in a day or 2. Not ran off but they quit posting. The most common people you run into are managers and other peripherial people in the sport out in the open. I've caught Lennox Lewis using my opinions on air though. When these hot dogs research their stuff, they run into our stuff. Then they pirate it.
The British forum has had a number of fighters posting including Frankie Gavin, Paul Smith and Tony Bellew as well as British commentator Steve Bunce.
Appreciate you being on here Chauncy. Just curious as to what other Eastsiders would think of a Welliver v Demori fight? Doesn't seem any of Mark opponents ever meet Eastside regulars approval. Would this be any different?
Assuming it's a serious question I'll tackle it based on data not just opinion >>> Chauncey Welliver's record is 52-5-5 and he's won his last 17 fights. Comparing Chauncey to Mark deMori's other opponents >>> 1/ Is he a debutante fighter as were half of Mark's other opponents? - NO. 2/ Has he lost 2 of his last 3 fights by KO like the other half of Mark's opponents? - NO. Objective assessment: Chauncey is a vastly superior opponent than the guys Mark usually fights.
Could indeed be an interesting fight :good But I doubt fighting on a remote basketball court for less than $8k will prove very attractive to Chauncey Welliver mate.
The final nail went into NZ boxing many, many years ago Chauncey. The fact is mate, and you might not be aware of this because you live overseas, but everyone here belives SBW is a legit fighter and the HW champ of new zealand, and there is no mention of your name. I appreciate the sentiment but perhaps the reason no-one here is aware of you is because you are too nice for your own good. If the fight was signed you'd be the public underdog, would smash SBW to bits and then have your choice of Tua or Cameron and onwards and upwards. he's not "good for the sport" at all mate, he is turning it into a circus and its not like he's converting fans, they watch to see him fight and thats it, they dont give a **** about the undercard or anything outside of SBW, they dont even know who the ACTUAL heavyweight champ of new zealand is. SBW fans, NOT "Boxing fans" give him the bash chauncey!!!
I've been thinking that since SBW has so many Rugby fans that are his fans in NZ, that there must surely also be a large amount of Rugby fans in other places who want to see him get his grill blown off. Those people need to be marketed to as well. I'd like to see a rival Rugby club get behind Welliver and embrace his smashing of SBW in a big fight.
Now everybodys riding sbw coatails,I can't understand why any real fighter doesn't just fight the best, beat the best and then move on,like tua,he wasn't looking to bash jona lomu for world rankings,he went to the U.S and kicked their asses(Until Ibeabuchi),no gimmiks, just real asperations of being a legit world champ!!Only jokers need to fight a relative novice to pump up their already padded records.
