Scahefer announced he is no longer with GBP. It will be interesting to see what the fall out is.

Good on Oscar getting rid of this carpetbagger. It is unforgiveable to use Haymons fighters instead of Golden Boys roster and was a clear conflict of interest.
Screw Haymon and Schaefer and let Oscar doing biz with Top Rank.
Floyd can always use Schaefer as a consultant for his promotions because he sure won't do biz with Oscar.Haymon-well now we will see how tight he and Showtime stooge Espinoza are!

whoa...I wonder how this shakes out.

On the one hand, it seems like even more factional and sectarian dividing in boxing is a bad thing, on the other hand, something had to change and maybe, just maybe this will work out for the best?

Ah, who am I kidding, this is boxing, if anything can go wrong it will and will stay wrong for a crazy long time (hope I'm wrong).

It took a whole 2 weeks longer than expected, but it was inevitable.

This should surprise nobody. It's been a long time coming. It's going to be interesting how Golden Boy deal with Haymon fighters, fight dates and everything. Haymon doesn't have a promotional license and his fighters need fight dates.

The fall of GBP depends entirely on whether or not Haymon and Mayweather use their services.
Mayweather was/is the GBP cash cow, as long as that remains in place Schaefer won't be missed one bit.

Call me a pessimist but I think anyone expecting this to lead to a new era of cooperation, with no barriers between promoters and all the fights we've been waiting on suddenly being made, may be fooling themselves.
