if it's true that most GB fighters are on a fight to fight deal, maybe it's time GB extends those contracts....I mean, if in fact TMT, SCHAEFER/HAYMON will try to start a promo, it'll take a long while before that happens...I'm sure fighters are not gonna sit around and wait for them...this is a perfect opportunity for Oscar to extend contracts so by the time that happens, if it even happens...his fighters will be locked in

 

I doubt it. These guys are loyal to Haymon not Oscar, the fighter's love him. Oscar was a fool for allowing this to even get this big. Oscar was trying at the last minute to convince Shaefer to stay. He knows the value of Richard and who was really the brains of GBP while he was out sniffing coke.

 

Haymon will most likely just take his guys to DiBella, Shaw, or Goossen if there's not an alternative in place already, and I believe all of them will be happy to once again accommodate fight-by-fight deals since they're not exactly getting many TV deals otherwise. I'd also point out that Nevada is the state that delayed Mayweather's prison sentence; a promotional license isn't going to be a particularly onerous task for him there if he wants one.

 

plus....GB might not have his fighters on huge yearly contracts, but he sure as hell has Richard locked in until 2018 hahahahaah....that's 4 ****en years bruh !!!!

bro...that's a downgrade, GB fighters are used to being treated fair, and being stacked on huge undercards....no other promoter can do that for them, let alone afford them....

 

bro, I highly doubt it...Oscar is very active in their professional, and personal life....he's been fighting his demons, yes....but his fighters are loyal to him..he's the one they looked up to as kids, he's the one that they've them their shot, he's the one that can relate to him (been boxing since a damn sperm), and in boxing....that means a lot !!!

when you have a boxing guy like Oscar on your side, the last thing you wanna do is switch over to guys that clearly wanna "take over".....that already is a huge black eye.....

 

I think Showtime has more of an incentive to work with Haymon seeing as Mayweather is a Haymon fighter and Showtime has that big contract with Mayweather. Plus, if Haymon's other fighters don't have long term deals in place with Golden Boy then they can get almost any of the top tier promoters to fill the GBP gap...

So let me get this straight to ALL YOU ASSES who say this was a bad move by oscar....so he hire a CEO to get talent and run the business... yet the CEO don't SIGN THE TALENT TO THE COMPANY....He sign the talent to a 3rd party person that you have a undercover deal with!! i dont disagree with the premise....but in reality he isnt the one who gave them their "shot".....schaefer is....oscars company did....hes the face....but schaefer is the guy who gets things done.....
