I have not once criticised German boxers. But the fact is that this is the first time I have seen any of the German posters here actually say it was bad. Even the posts above are still saying "the ref was Spanish" as if that is remotely the point.
The point is that the fans in Germany have been blindly patriotic for years, they were happy to support Ottke getting gift decisions and they were happy to defend disgraceful bias just to say "We have a world champion".

Frank Warren is a horrible, lying **** of a promoter, but if he pulled something like ringing the bell, he would be criminally charged in Britain and never allowed to promote here again.

There is corruption everywhere, Don King was a fine example, but he could not do it openly and he did not have the support of the majority of the fans.
All I have read over the years from German promoted rip offs is excuses from german fans.
Sometimes the fight is fair, Matt Skelton lost in Germany fair and square, no complaints. But when something that tarnishes the sport happens nothing is done or said about it.

The worst examples of blatant cheating, like a referee pulling a downed fighter up so that his opponent can go back on the attack and win by KO, or points being deducted for a clean punch or ringing the damn bell...

All of these most blatant, open cheats have happened with Germany fighters promoted by German promotional companies. And your post is the first one in over 5 years of posting on various boxing sites where I have seen a German poster say it was a disgrace.

And yet what do your authorities do? Nothing. Do the fans feel ashamed and protest that it is ruining the repuation of hard working, honest German fighters? No.

Why would anyone in the world agree to send their fighter to fight a German on a German promotion? Whether it was held in Germany or Spain or anywhere else? If it is a German promotion with a German fighter you might get a fair fight, but there is a huge chance and FAR larger than with any other nation that you will be ripped off and have your fighter cheated.

Look at the corruption investigations in the US after the Lewis fight. The other night was FAR more clear cheating, and what chance do you think there is that there will be any investigation?

Garbage. Pro Boxing has a number of big names at the moment and numerous big fights, very few involve German promoted fighters. A few obvious names stand out, but the vast majority of the draws and the new rising stars are not down to the German market.

That said, I am all for having more markets involved and having a greater following of the sport on mainland Europe. But Germany has to take control of the corruption otherwise its boxing becomes a reflection of all that is wrong with the sport.

Striko Striko you need your hormone level tested as well, havent had a lassie in quite a while? whats with all these four letter words, thats giving you a hard on, confess, then next thing German bashing is your favourite past time and thus gives you an extra hard on, now relax, breathe, let fresh air into your system mate. Or maybe the good old fashioned hand job, it might help.

Did you see Ballack vs serbia? Extraordinary I tell ya, EXTRAordinary, he scored, he set up another one, the leading man on the pitch, come on give him some credit.

Pretty bad. I have the feeling if Ohner hadn't thrown in the towel the ref would have let Airich die in the ring before stopping the fight.

What are the laws regarding Ohner's ringing of the bell BTW? And would it be Spanish or German law that is enforced?

Not at all mate, got laid on Saturday thanks. I am sick of seeing so called fans of the sport making excuses for what was the most blatant cheating I have ever seen in any sport.

I notice you have not commented on what actually went on. Germany is fast becoming a by word for corruption within boxing and that SHOULD bother you and every German fight fan, but it appears not to as most of the "fans" I have seen comment just say it is anti Euro bias and corruption is worse elsewhere.

It is a farce. I have never seen an incident like the bell ringing before and the US media went to town after Lewis-Holyfield 1, there were criminal investigations and US sports media was unequivicol in its condemnation and disgust.

And that was nothing compared to recent incidents in German promotions. It is also a slight to every good German boxer who is more than capable of forging a succesful career without being protected by a corrupt system and promotional team who pay off refs and directly intervene in fights.

Nobody else in the world should send fighters to Germany or agree to be involved in a fight under the German promotional outfits that have been at the centre of the most blatant scandals.

Any comments on the incident? Or do you think it was quite funny like most of the German "boxing fans"?

Drama Queen. Look, when you start a thread titled "scandalous!" and speak of betrayal! Fraud! Corruption! and its the ugly Krauts again" like a The Sun or Daily Star reporter would do, only in this case your intention is to procure an emotion packed ten or more pages thread that guarantees insults ("**** you"), convenient stereotypes ("All German promoters are corrupt") and personal threats ("see you next event - if you dare come") I at least want my big titted page three girl along the way. Where are the tits here? You forgot the most essential

First of all, I didnt see the fight, the event wasnt important enough for me and thats why i didnt comment on it further up.

So I take it Oener really and truly rang the bell midway through a round to save his fighter from getting koed. Thats indeed corrupt but at the same time pretty hilarious and amusing  (Slapstick really). Have never heard of the kind. You wouldnt get that here in Germany and if you did you d have the whistling and booing by the fans and the media outrage that you so badly missed after this fight. We didnt have an outcry this time because hardly anyone noticed what went on. A low profile bout and thats why your lewis Holy comparison fails to fit, that was high profile world stage fight that the whole world focused on. But what do we know what goes on at some obscure backyard shows in Thailand, Argentina or Spain for the matter, if no one watches anything goes.

To deduct from this German boxing per se is corrupt is stretching it a little wouldnt you say? Or its at least as topical as the absurd theory all English ladies are round and stocky, ever heard of that?

    Chelsea lurves Ballack!!

That's some interesting thing. I have no idea.

Anyway I still think that no-one will sue Öner; team Williams won, and and who else has any interest (that's what it's all about imo) in doing it? The 4 sanctioning bodies not imo.

I saw someone on here posting that Öner is only the face and that he isn't the boss at all. Now if that is true two things come to mind; criminals and mafia. Why? Because that is typically what they(the real bosses) would do to stay unharmed. And so far nobody as ever heard of them.

Also take a look at the things Öner is doing in Cuba:shock: That goes WAY beyond just signing a fighter. He actually helped a guy to escape from a/his country illegaly!

NB.: Cuba might be a communist regime, but helping another person escape the country is illegal and has nothing to do with boxing. So I think that would mean that Cuba has the right to sue Öner..:D

Just watched it for the first time and I gotta say that I felt sick to my stomach. The people responsible must never be allowed to have anything to do with boxing again.
