Fighters who DURING (not before) the fight began to be afraid of the opponent showing scared eyes. Excluded some Tyson's opponents can you think of anyone? Wilder with Fury II.
1. Everyone who fought George Foreman. 2. Everyone who fought Sonny Liston 3. Everyone who fought Mike Tyson 4. Everyone who fought Joe Louis LOL. Partial hyperbole here.
Greg “Flea” Richardson certainly did his share of fleeing against a peak Jeff Fenech. To be fair Fenech was about 3 weight divisions larger than Greg in the ring that night but it didn’t look all that good as a showing for Richardson either.
Maybe not scared but Duran lost all his bragadoccio during that first round with Hearns. To be fair, he wasn't oozing the usual Duran in the pre-fight instructions although he gave Tommy the stare. After being knocked down twice in the first, he patted Hearns at the end of the round. Never knew Roberto to show any respect for an opponent during the fight and certainly not after just one round.
Bobbie czyz vs Hamsho or anyone else that could hurt him. He refused to fight Sibson. Scypion and Lee vs Hagler
I remember Ken Norton looking like a deer in headlights after the first round against George Foreman.
Lloyd Honeyghan against Marlon Starling Honeyghan always showed nothing but disdain and nastiness to his opponent. Against Starling, who kept his tight peek-a-boo guard throughout, Lloyd just plowed into him as if he was nothing, catching nothing but arms round after round. Starling counter-punched immaculately throughout, and starting around the 6th or 7th round, Honeyghan began meekly extending his fist to touch glove at the beginning of the remaining rounds. He may as well have put up a white flag at that point because everyone knew he was getting pounded and it was only a matter of time. But at the point where he went to touch gloves - something he was never noted for - fear had taken hold.
