lol aparently half majority of the people in GD think it's simple as walking to the guy and punching him

I was similar not through fear of being hit but my right hand was terrible so just fought with my left. if your using your jab and mixing it up they will struggle to counter it, try throwing to the body, backing them up with 3 jabs then a right hand to the body then move. Also, keep your guard tight chin tucked behind the shoulder whilst you jab, right hand in position learn to trust in your guard to block the shots so that you don't panic when your opponent throws. Its a hard thing to do and I'm not embarassed to admit I'm still learning myself.

Keep getting into the ring,it's the only way. Everyone is scared when they first get into the ring;EVERYONE. Whether or not they show it is another thing.

You aren't scared of getting hit, you're scared of getting knocked out (ie embarrassed). Just bite down, tuck your chin, keep your eyes on your opponent and go at him. Best case, you learn how to fight. Worst case, you get knocked down but not embarrassed because you weren't fighting scared. People respect that. You'll take some shots and learn that it isn't so bad. Just trust yourself that you wont go down.

Tip: as a newb the only way is forward. You can't box off the back foot without more advanced skills. March forward and give as good as you take. The skills will come.

Something we use to Do with Novices. Put them in with a seasoned Guy, who was Bigger. His orders were to move the Kid gently around the Ring learning Defense, if He Hurt the Kid, His next two Sparring partners would be my Heavy and Cruiser, who were both Euro champs at the time. Who would Bash the Granny out of Him. :yep.
