I mean fights where you've said "****ing hell!" and been genuinely afraid for the losing guy? Hagler on the rampage against Minter was one for me. Tyson-Berbick and Hearns-Cuevas also apply. Which performances almost terrified you?
Tyson Spinks, tyson savarese(the viciousness of knocking down the referee to get to savarese and the post fight interview) RJJ griffin 2, Duran moore Cotto randall bailey(taking shots from a 1 punch KO artist like they're nothing, making both his eyes look like the eyeball fell out with punches, the bodyshot that made bailey lift his leg) Foreman frazier Tyson biggs(the last few rounds were dark. Biggs had an expression on his face between rounds like "What did i do to deserve this, Why is this happening? someone help " Foreman ****ey(I thought ****ey was dead for a second" Hearns Duran(Thought duran died for a second" Margarito cotto
i suppose you could add Roberto Duran Vs Davey Moore = Duran fillited Davey that night, Davey was never the same again, I dont know what the conrner was thinking of or the Reef
Norton-Bobick comes to mind. In retrospect, Duane was 'pan fed' that undefeated record and didn't belong in with ANY of the Top contenders. His problem was that he was so darn slow! At the time we thought if he'd faced a Liston or a Foreman that night it would have been terribly worse.
Norton Bobick was not a scary performance. I laughed from the very moment Kens first overhand right landed up to and including Bobick lurching to his feet after being knocked down. Hysterical. Then that or the following evening Saturday Night Live playing the KO again and again......a laugh riot
Dempsey vs Willard Foreman vs Frazier I Hearns vs Duran Hearns vs Cuevas Whiterspoon vs Anders Eklund Julian Jackson vs Herol Graham
Gatti v. Gamache was sickening, the size disparity was ridiculous. ****ey v. Norton made an impression on me when I was younger, I thought ****ey was a beast, because at my young age, I couldn't understand it was not the Norton I had seen on TV a few years before. Billy Costello v. Bruce Curry was painful to watch Mugabi v. C.Parker really surprised me, but I don't think Parker so badly hurt, so maybe I am missing a bit the point. Davey Moore v. Benitez Hilton v. Benitez, poor Wilfred, he went down the hill so fast after Hamsho.
Roy Jones ko'd Art Serwano with a sudden burst of speed and power. Serwano's eyes bugged out and he shook violently as if seizing. I thought he was gonna die right there But, he recovered.
