You make some reasonable points White Trunks Black Trim. For a fighter who is still young and has time to recover from an unfair loss to Alvarez courtesy of corrupt judging (assuming they would otherwise had him legitimately beat on points were the fight to be held elsewhere) then yes, it's a great opportunity to make money. But for other fighters like Golovkin, who were on the verge of finishing their career with an unblemished record, I believe the potential financial gain is not worth having their career finish on a sour note. But then, I'm not a boxer (although I am considering joining a boxing gym) and perhaps in Golovkin's mind he valued the financial gain above his zero, which if so, is fair enough as he has his retirement to think about. All the same, it has left a bitter taste in my mouth and I don't believe these gift decisions are good for boxing overall but that's a discussion which is probably better suited for another thread.

 

But his fans will swear otherwise.
