That is what I'm asking above. I've seen reports it was offered before and during mediation. I just find that hard to believe. I think the deal would have been struck with that. Just my hunch though.
I'm certainly not what you would consider a "*****" and I have to say that Arum looks like he is not really trying to get this fight done. If you actually read the article (it's very short and to the point) then you will see that it's not some editorial piece or some gossip straight from the Floyd's camp. The author actually spoke to both sides and got a very uncooperative response from Arum...
The article I read came out after the mediation, and Floyd said the proposal for 14 days was put on the table before the mediation, not during. Its hard to believe.
Listen... to all of you who are wondering about whether Floyd made the proposal before or after the mediation... #1 Does it matter? The offer is out there now. You better believe both sides are fully aware of that by now. Take the offer and STFU! #2 Wasn't it Bob Arum who said he would not negotiate this deal through the media? And people are questioning Floyd's camp for adhering to that and shutting the **** up during the whole debacle??? What's wrong with that picture?
Who gives a **** right now if the offer was made during mediation or not. It's on the table now and there is no signed contract for any other fight. Mayweather and Schaefer want to strike a deal with a 14 day cutoff. They have already agreed on every other detail. Saying no out of stubborness? I don't get it.
Not sure if its true but I heard it was communicated before the mediation to Top Rank - just not to Manny. Perhaps Arum hates Floyd so much that he wants to kill the fight, but make it look like he tried.
That is what I read also. So, standard negotiation. They ask 30, you counter with 21, they counter with 14. What I read is they failed to make the counter at the time of the mediation and just said no to the 21. Now AFTER mediation is done and Arum moved on it is back on the table? Yeah, that sounds right doesn't it? atsch
This deadline has been moved more than once. At some point, you have to move on. And no one has mentioned Arum left the door open for this fall.
i can't see what difference it makes, if it was during or a day after, if pac was interested he would sign.
It's time to move on once another fight is signed. Clottey fight hasn't been signed yet. This is pathetic.
Arum NEVER wanted this fight. He didn't want to risk manny leaving and he hates GBP and Floyd so didn't want to deal with Floyd. Period. Floyd gave him his perfect way out by asking for these tests.
