The difference is that it is useless political posturing instead of 2 of the top 5 fighters in the division going after each other.

Lucas is shameful, he should either fight for Lamont's title or not fight him at all. Holding on to a ridiculous interim paper title like it means something is a ****ing joke. If he wins his promotor already said he would get a shot at the Judah Garcia winner so the games make no sense.

 

If he doesnt wanna give up his interim then there is nothing wrong with that. He shouldnt be put in that type of situation. The IBF wont allow it to be unified with their belt. So Matthysse isnt in the wrong here, neither is Peterson. The politics and rules of the IBF is the reason for this being a non title fight.

Well someone with a real belt wants to fight you and put the belt on the line, what does the interim belt matter? He is going to fight for a full title, the mindset that you want to hold on to the interim belt is ridiculous on its face.

There is nothing wrong with the IBF or WBC, it is the fighter. Lucas will get a fight with the winner of the Judah-Garcia fight from promotor connection alone if he wins, everything else is bull****, but to be so insecure in yourself as a fighter that you would fight with nothing on the line than to go out and risk something for a reward is crazy to me.
