Sounds like Hennessy considered Wilder a potential opponent for Fury but Sky didn't and weren't prepared to make it a PPV event when Wilder is a nobody in the UK and nobody would buy it.

Also sounds like Scheafer is asking for unreasonable terms since Wilder isn't a draw anywhere, he's not a big name and he is still unproven as the only live opponent he's actually fought so far as been (just in top 100 ranking) Kelvin Price (god knows how he's ranked 3rd by the WBC and WBO and 7th by the WBA). He should be headlining events by now - 5 years and 30 fights into his pro-career with an undefeated record and all wins coming via KO - but he's still fighting on undercards. Just goes to show how little drawing power he has.

And as for implying Fury will "go for a safer opponent", nobody in Wilder's camp has the right to say that. The name of Chisora on Fury's resume trumps all of Wilder's 30 wins put together in terms of fighting dangerous opposition.

golden boy has hid Wilder and matched him vs corpses and are delusional . just their way of trying to be clever and accuse someone of ducking them.

It's down to Hennessey to make an offer -- they want the fight in the UK, obviously, Tyson called out Wilder not the other way around, and Hennessey called Golden Boy about making the fight ... and hasn't followed up.

50-50 was thrown out as a starting point for negotiations, Hennessey is allowed to counter. This fight doesn't get made without both UK and US television (Showtime, which GBP and Wilder have a relationship with) so that could make it 50-50 or close (Tyson gets UK television money and Wilder gets US television money).

Tyson obviously needs a sellable opponent for PPV in the UK because he apparently can't carry it on his own "popularity" there -- to say they can't sell Fury-Wilder on PPV is an admission that Haye was the one really driving that promotion and making it PPV status.

Right now there is no fight to make because Fury has announced his retirement (twice) on twitter and apparenlty gone on a bendor. Unless it happened today and I missed it, he hasn't come back to say it's a joke or that he has changed his mind.

Hennessey told the Belfast Telegraph that Tyson needs time to get over the disappointment of the Haye cancelation and that he will return when he's in a proper mental state to fight again. This comment was made AFTER he called GBP and stopped taking their calls. The reasonable conclusion is that he was trying to make the fight, Golden Boy and Wilder said "Let's do it" and he went to Tyson and Tyson doesn't want to fight right now.

I'm sure Fury will change his mind and decide to keep boxing, but if that's his stance right now there is no fight to be made.

But the ball is definitely in Fury's and Hennessey's court. If they don't make an offer, they were just blowing smoke.

Golden Boy said make an offer. There's nothing to turn down, no "50 percent of what" to discuss until Fury's balls drop and his team makes an actual offer.
