Tarver was The Ring champ when Hopkins moved up two weight classes and dominated him.

Don't think X can do 12 at any sort of pace now.

Won't be able to get away with his games in Canada.

Nard to give it up around 9, on his stool?

Grant, that is definitely not out of the question. Hopkins is intelligent enough to know when the game is up IMO.

At the same time, I wouldn't be wholly surprised ifbhe took away Pascals best weapons and tore him a new one, every time Hop goes a few fights without impressing he seems to step it up in one he's not supposed to win

One important thing; Pascal is quality, but not infallibe. Hop has a knack with positioning himself in a way to dissuade his opponent from constantly throwing. The accuracy on his counters could have Pascal more cautious than usual. If that happens then we could see another fine display of 'The Sweet Science', from a 46 year old man

Thing is with Hopkins, whilst his body is failing him, he's still in superb condition and, due to minimalising the punishment he has taken over the years, still has his wits about him. He cannot be counted out in this matchup, there a few fighters in the past few years who we've picked to outwork Hopkins, and we've been shown time and time again that he counter this.

I do think he's on his way out though.

He got a little lucky against Pavlik though - considering Kelly really shouldn't have been fighting. That doesn't diminish Hopkins' great performance, but I think it flattered to deceive.

I'm not very interested in this fight though - I expect after Hopkins turgid performance against Jones and his inability to get off in that fight that Pascal will simply out-work him. Pascal doesn't seem the type to wait around and Hopkins doesn't have the speed and offensive fluidity of Dawson to turn it round.

I expect a stinker of a fight with people crying that Hopkins got robbed.

If he can make it into a stinker I consider it a success  Emile Griffith had his fair share. Hopkins could become 'greatest fighter with the most dull fights' :deal

The best scenario is B-Hop retiring and Pascal fighting Bute or Cloud.

What an awful way to got out if that were to happen :-(

I doubt it would happen though, I reckon Bhop could fight to survive for 12 rounds into his mid 50s! The question of course is whether he could fight 12 rounds and go for the win...

Who knows whats going to happen, I feel that Bhop believes theres another fight for him, we know for a fact he didnt want any of Dawson...but with Pascal, the old man may just fancy his chances.

If he did win , it'd be sensational even for BHop

Hopkins can't do a proper 12 anymore. He loses, maybe even by stoppage.

Pascal is a good style for him but X is getting old.

Yep, even though i don't rate Tarver no one can diss Hopkins' win, especially considering how much of an underdog he was. :nut

Maybe we're rushing to judgement off the back of Hopkins showing in the Jones fight Flea? i doubt it, but we'll see.

Just only a year ago if this fight was made i'd be saying Hopkins would win comfortabily, because really he has such an stylistic advantage. He can turn him and reset the crafty attack all night long. I could see Pascal in this fight as an aggressor who's tailor made for Hopkins just toying with him. Jean would be a smaller light heavy to boot. This would've been a school session 101 for Pascal not that long ago and maybe Hopkins still has what it takes and thats why he's instructed the Swiss Banker to get it sealed as he won't take a fight he doesn't think he can win at this point...HBO is already wet for it too!

Interesting...:think I still say Pascal is too fast, young, active and athletic for old man river though.

I don't see where Hopkins has a problem in this fight. Pascal is not an active fighter so you can throw that right out of the window. He throws 1 flurry each minute. Pascal actually used Hopkins type tactics against Dawson, circling around, drawing mistakes and leaping in with combinations, similar to what Hopkins did against Pavlik.

I don't think he's going to outsmart Bernard Hopkins like that.

Oh you know that's what i would be saying as well, but would Hopkins even be able to deal with what Pascal brought in the Chad fight? really i think he's that far gone. Did you see the Jones fight?

I just texted a friend and told him I had a dream that Bernard got tired and quit and blamed it on a jogging injury lol Bernard is 45 or 6 now. He looked horrible his last two fights against a can and a shell of himself Roy. You would think the leaping lizard would walk into right crosses all night but something tells me the well is dry Tffp. lol

    I'm interested in this...

intrigued by the tactics Hops would deploy. Thats what boxings all about, a guy with so much experience, using this and finding a way to win.

    Hopkins points for me.

Pascal wins, puts a hurting on Hopkins.

The alledged possibly used PEDs just aren't enough for Bernard anymore maybe, if that were the case alledged by unconfirmed, unreliable, non-existant sources.
