I didn't think Mayweather allowed himself to be weighed on fight night so would be surprised if that was known.

Still, depends how you put the weight on, if it's muscle/fat and where it is, all sorts of things. If you have longer to prepare it will be 'better weight'.

Just checked. Martinez was 168 against Williams, 170 against Dzinziruk and 165 against Barker.

He was 164 for Mayweather, but I'm sure I read he weighed in at 170. Must have been mistaken

What exactly are you talking about?:huh Mr Dibella has said Martinez would agree to a catchweight of 154.1 if Floyd wants the MW title so bad.Mayweather already held a 154 belt.

At 154 it would be as fair as Alvarez in terms of size. In the ring they are roughly the same size as each other, and Martinez can still make 154.

Also Rob, why is fighting a heavier opponent so unfair? Many have succeeded at it before, why is it such an issue for Floyd?

  13. Martinez is probably the same size, if not smaller than Alvarez.

Under same day weigh-ins Canelo would probably be fighting the likes of Froch - who'd probably be still at 168, rather than Mayweather.

What Floyd ought to do is look upon this as a brilliant opportunity, rather than a dangerous fight. There's a fight between him and the MW champ that people will buy, and it's not a cherry pick.

He'll get absolutely no **** from anyone over this. If he won he might finally get the respect from the boxing fraternity that he craves so much, as opposed to the casuals who think he's the GOAT.
