If you're a Mayweather fan, or a Mayweather-nuthugging boxing stenographer like Tim Smith, I feel bad for you. We tried, repeatedly, to warn you.

Floyd retired for a reason a few years ago. Or, more specifically, several reasons: Antonio Margarito, Paul Williams, Miguel Cotto and Shane Mosley.

During Floyd's time away from the game, his courage apparently has not increased in any meaningful way. The only guy Mayweather actually came back to fight -- smallish pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao -- was just embarrassingly ducked by Money May.

So now we're supposed to hope Floyd's Cowardly Lion suddenly finds enough heart to take on aging but dangerous Shane Mosley?

Maybe Mayweather signs the Mosley deal before Shane starts receiving Social Security. Maybe.

The point is clear, however: Anyone who bought the BS cover story about why Floyd ducked Pac should be set straight by now. If not, I have some attractive bridge property in Brooklyn I hope to interest you in.

i really hope this is just a ploy by gbp and pbf to attract more attnetion. I'm no pbf fanboy, but as a fan of the sport, it would be amazing to see one of the most gifted fighters ever to take on an opponent who can challenge him.

    i really hope floyd signs.

Oh I get it. So this is Mayweather's plan. He wants to wait for Mosley to get **** off for waiting until he can't stand it anymore and try to look for another fighter. At the same time, Mayweather wants the people to see that "Mosley ducks Mayweather" for being impatient.

Well played Mayweather, Well played :patsch

PS. i don't buy the crap with mosley already looking for another opponent. Mosley willingly sat out a year chasing pac and pbf. he isnt going to magically look for an opponent this early unless pbf openly says he does not want to fight him anymore.

co-sign. Although i would strongly argue that floyd does not really want this fight and only circumstances and a bit of luck for mosley pushed mayweather into the negotiations table, i don't think floyd would be stupid enough to duck mosley now that the whole world is looking intently upon him. he knows what's up and he will sign that contract.

I think at the end of the road. FMJ will sign it. He hesitated yes, but in the end he'll sign it.

Atleast that's what i and all us fight fans are hoping.

What this hesitation of Floyd proves is:

    1) He got cornered to fight Mosley. Seems a 3:1 favorite odds isn't good enough for him or still a threat in his eyes.

    2) People now concluded without a doubt in their mind how hopeless the Pac/Floyd negotiation is. Floyd rejected the 24 days offer of Arum/Pac, then Arum/Pac rejected the 14 days offer of Floyd/GBP. What level of guarantee that Floyd would sign the Pac/Floyd fight contract had Arum/Pac agreed to 14 days?

Floyd has to sign it, he has no choice. He could never show his face in public again if he doesn't.

I think he will but if Floyd honestly, honestly, honestly doesn't make this fight happen, I think Mosley/Zaveck for a unification would be nice for the fans and his legacy. It won't happen because nobody knows Zaveck it seems, but it would be nice.
